Yeah this time us in the states suffer too.
If anyone, sega dissed you. soleil is not compatible with either american or japanese megadrive.
sonic 3 region lock was only to frustrate importing. data from all regions is on every cart, just like sonic 2. including pal optimizations and tails/miles differences.
It was less successful outside the US.
Well it's not possible under normal circumstances for both Soleil to work, and bare knuckle display the japanese name.
That should only happen for a console set to japanese at 50hz.
You'll just have to try various games to nail down the region accurate. Megadrive has four possible settings.
English or Japanese will be fastest with a dual language game. Quackshot, Revenge of...
one stereotype yeah, obviously unfair to generalize too much. Stuff like 50hz/60hz doesn't get much attention here since we rarely encounter it.
It's something of an American view. Those with rgb access much easier, tend to be more in tune with ideas like that.
Well mods are supposed to be kept modest and practical. Like a switch having obvious usability conveniences over setting up a whole Genesis of each region.
It's OK to progress slow. Actually makes gameplay better. Easier to read dialog, clearer more distinct objects...
Burning Force is fun.
Ristar shows off the hardware power nicely.
Most importantly, invest in video quality! Genesis has worse composite than the snes.
You want to get nearer to RGB/component...
No need to tamper or use alternate sources. Genesis outputs RGB from the factory.
Heh. Poor dezaemon 2, no more backup ram cart to save/load created games on a saturn like that.
No. You should be done with composite video instead.
Much better approach to avoid the problem entirely, than try to work with something known bad.
GBA is a time sink to dig into. Runs virtually anything, lack of piracy/region protection.
Open for all sorts of impossible to comprehend mahjong or whatever.
If you must use composite buy a 32X. Preferably with external comb filter. But chances are together they'd cost more money than a component converter box.
In practice there is no such thing as...
Do you have a CRT with component input?
The earliest version mega drive 1 without startup message, plays a few more games. Not important to most users.
region lock was optional. many games ignore region. or use it only for language...
Wouldn't you have to hack the firmware or something to make its buttons select the input?
32X creates new composite video from RGB. Genesis composite quality shouldn't have any effect.
Audio generated by the Genesis still matters.
I wouldn't spend any more on that approach....
Yeah replacement screens have one issue, bit harder to get 50hz/60hz working right. Needs a color fix since few if any accept NTSC50.
Well that'll do for now. Fine to save it until you run across 50hz speed or want to switch language in a game.
Region mods are an option. Nomad was sold only in 60hz US format, won't on its own run games locked to PAL or Japan.
don't bother. primal rage is already region free.
it'd possibly be cheaper to get a usa console than hunt down t-mek.
Probably need a rom patch on flash cart.
