Default Power Adapter for JVC X'EYE

    Hey Everybody,

I recently picked up a JVC X'EYE. Unfortunately it didn't come with the power adapter. I was wondering if anybody knows where I can pick one up or find another with equal power output. I've looked into it and cannot find anything online. If anyone has another one I would be willing to buy it from them. Thanks for reading, this is my first post.

The regular genesis brick is 10v .85a. The x'eye needs 9.5v 1.5a. The amps are too low and the x'eye doesnt work right. I tried that.

A regular genesis brick on my CDX just made me run into issues : torn image, heavy rumble and even some audio desync on CD games. I also heard that you decrease the lifespan of your console if you use it while under-powered.

Now I use an universal regulated power supply (10V, 2A) and everything works like a charm. If you don't care about having the official power brick (quite difficult to get your hands on), just get one of these power supplies from an electronics store.

I really want to know HOW this can cause problems.... the AC brick is a linear supply and it will not give out what is written on it......

I have higher than normal votage coming from wall outlet, a brick supposed to give out 10V gives 14V in my place for example

Main problem is the amps, not the voltage, as the genesis cuts down the power to 5V anyway. In the case of hybrid systems such as CDX, X'Eye and - I guess - Neptune, 850 mA aren't enough to power everything properly. I don't really know how it can damage the console as I know very little about electronics, but hearing such a loud hum and seeing a distorted image was enough for me to reconsider what power supply I was using

The reason it can damage is becasue it will draw the amps from other electronic components causing things to run in a weird way.

Only thing that will suffer is the AC brick, since there is only single voltage regulator.

But now I understand how things can be problematic when there's multiple power sources inside the game console.
