Personally I love the Genesis Eternal Champions soundtrack, and hate the Sega CD one. It's too rock-y for me.

I've had the Genesis version for a few years and never really cared for it. I found the controls to be especially stiff. Recently however I got the Sega CD version and I love it. It has actually become one of my favourite fighters of all time. The only issue I have with it is some of the sound effects are MUCH louder than the rest of the game, ie: Raven's wining pose, when she takes out that lantern and it makes that earpiercingly loud noise. Other than that, what a fantastic game!
Man I wish Steven Lashower would answer those questions already,
I'm dying to find out some answers to my questions.
Love the music on this game.
Loved this game. I knew how to do all the stage fatalities![]()
My favorite fighting game ever, its a tragedy that the trilogy was never finished.
Ha, u love Bone??? I liked 'em when I was younger, of course, MTV launched their career at the time with "Tha Crossroads" at #1 (of the daily video countdown) for like the entire summer.
Plus they were real unique at the time (violent rappers who sang sorta like church boys lol), and Tha Crossroads itself is a very unique song, promising to meet their dead friend when the time comes... It also seems pretty spiritual / Christian too, in contrast to most of their album containing all kind of rhymes about murder, selling cocaine, etc.
The original "Crossroad" song (sampling Eternal Champions) is sort of similar to Tha Crossroads, so it's also an ode of love to Easy E... Still most of E. 1999/Eternal is just murder and more murder, and there's even a song called "Mo Murda" how lovely. lol
As years passed I realized that I mostly like their singing voices (especially Bizzy and Krayzie) plus the musical tracks themselves, but a lot of their lyrics (while sometimes clever) just put me off, I mean I'm a nonviolent person for crying out loud!
Nowadays I don't listen to them much but once in a while. I mostly stick to their lighter stuff now; Bizzy's "Fried Day" is a nice upbeat song (all about his love for herb), & there r a few other other smooth pot songs like "Budsmokers Only" & "Buddah Lovas" & "Let's Get P.O.D.'d." "Down '71" is violent but also it's technically nonviolent, since the whole song is a made-up fantasy (about breaking their friends out from jail) lol. Oh I was also just listening to Krayzie's "It Won't Be Long" a couple days ago -- get ur beautiful melodies, smooth deep singing, and Apocolypse paranoia, all in one song. lol

That sampling got me to listen to Bone Thugs N Harmony, I really like Tha Crossroads and First Day of Tha Month is a great song too.
The original version of Crossroads samples the bad ending theme of EC, and Eternal samples the Biography Screen music.:

I don't like Gangsta Rap, but Tha Crossroads is awesome, love the sample and the song itself is really inspirational! Very different from the rest of their music.
I wish all of their music was like that. Eternal and Crossroads have cool samples, and while I like the beat, I don't think the rapping is that great on either songs.
Admittedly, Eternal Champions has its problems (more So EC1.) but for a fighter, it's definitely one of my favorites. I'm pretty much an expert at the game. Even saw the secret Champion mode ending that reveals information about the unreleased third game's plot.
I talk to Michael Latham every so often on Facebook and Skype. I guess you could say we're kind of friends.
Since the third game will probably never see release, I decided to get in touch with him. I had a plan (and still do) to create an Eternal Champions fan game that's supposed to be what the sequel was like. However, I wanted to make it as accurate as possible. So, I contacted Mike and he's now kind of my consultant for the fan game. Even offered to host it on his site if I finished it.
Mainly, I've asked him about the gameplay mechanics in more detail and have also learned a great deal about the Chaos Eternal Champion, as well as pretty much how the best ending of the game was supposed to play out. I won't reveal this info unless you guys absolutely HAVE to see it.![]()
Haven't learned any of the Infernals' names yet though unfortunately. I do know that the versions of Dark EC you fight in the second half of the CPU battle that Was unplayable in the second game, was going to be playable for the final battle with Chaos for those of you who have always wanted to drop people in fissures (like me. XD)
Also learned that Senator's attacks were based off of a scrapped Clown character concept's attacks. The clown was replaced by Jetta Maxx before production on EC began. He also mentioned how Michael Jackson looked at the clown picture and all kinds of fun stuff.
Another small note: Harry Chavez, the Game Balancer of EC 1 who was promoted from Tester in mid-production of the game, passed away recently. Again, Mike told me this as well.
