As for the latest episode, I can't say I ever knew of Sega Visions back then. Seems interesting, but I'm not sure if it would be as interesting to read coming from a modern perspective of someone who hasn't read it yet, as opposed to when it was all new and exciting(and having the nostalgia of having read it when it was).

    Perhaps off topic:
You don't seem to have a general thread for the channel.

I was listening to the 2nd Musings vid, about the console wars, when you brought up that some guy mentioned a lack of quality games on the Genesis in '94. So I took at look at releases for both consoles for that year, according to Wikipedia, that were exclusive to either console in the North American region, that seemed worth noting:

    SNES:
The Adventures of Batman & Robin
    Brain Lord
    Breath of Fire
    Demon's Crest
    Donkey Kong Country
    Equinox
    Final Fantasy III
    Firestriker
The Flintstones: The Treasure of Sierra Madre
    Ghoul Patrol
    Illusion of Gaia
    Mega Man X
    R-Type III: The Third Lightning
    Super Bomberman 2
    Super Metroid
    Super Punch-Out!!
Super Star Wars: Return of the Jedi

    Genesis:
    Battletech
    Beyond Oasis
    Castlevania
    Contra
    Crusader of Centy
    Desert Demolition
    Dynamite Headdy
    Ecco: The Tides of Time
    Jurassic Park: Rampage Edition
    Mega Bomberman
    Mutant League Hockey
    Shadowrun
    Skitchin'
    Sonic & Knuckles
    Sonic 3
    Streets of Rage 3
    Tinhead

With no agenda or any conscious thought to it, I wound up writing down an equal number of games(17) on both lists. Like I said, that was exclusive to the North American region, so it's not taking into account great multi-platform titles that were better on one or the other, or exclusives to the European or Japanese regions.

'94 as a year was far from a "downfall" for Sega. The Whole DKC-magic-bullet-for-Nintendo thing is severely overstated as well. When DKC sold it's best, November(~500,000 units) and December(absolute best at ~1,500,000 units) of '94, Genesis games as a whole still outsold SNES games.

Personally, I don't know what can be done to stave the ignorance off. People believe what they want to believe, and then, with confirmation bias, they become the video game historians that people take at face value.

Anyway, I just wanted to get my thoughts out on that. I can't believe anyone would seriously think '94 was a poor quality year for Sega.

Dude, DKC is THE reason Sega no longer makes consoles! Everyone knows that!

No, it's unbiased analysis. The only fanboyism is people who claim that Hyperstone Heist and Bloodlines are actually as good as their SNES counterparts.
