Absolutely loved that review on Gaiares. I'm actually thinking of finding a copy of it and I've never been one for shooters (though I'm pretty good at shooter sections in other games). Great job Melf!

I think I may have come off as a bit too enthusiastic about the game, but I really do love it. I just wish it wasn't so darn hard.

Great job. I will pick this up some day, been planning to do so for some time. The JP version with the nude girl blocked by spaceship is cool, but the US version has a poster, which is even better to me .

I was pretty turned off with Todd's Adventure in Slime World which to me seemed to be one of the worst games ever made (not that I spent a lot of time with it), but Gaiares is definitely awesome !

    Constructive criticism:

    • Use a better microphone. The one you're currently using seems to be rather high pitched. Very unpleasant to listen to on headphones.
    • Shorten the intro. A lot. 33seconds is way too long.
    • Increase the volume of the game's audio / music so it's still audible in the mix, even when you speak.
    • Increase the volume of the game's audio / music even further when there's longer sections during which you don't speak.
    • Record stuff from real hardware. Much sexier.

The Mega Drive was far inferior to the NES in terms of diffusion rate and sales in the Japanese market, though there were ardent Sega users. But in the US and Europe, we knew Sega could challenge Nintendo. We aimed at dominating those markets, hiring experienced staff for our overseas department in Japan, and revitalising Sega of America and the ailing Virgin group in Europe.

Then we set about developing killer games.

I much prefer the US box art. Why have THIS:

When you can instead have this sexy box?

Still dreamin' about ya, Jamie! Everyone is.

"You must spread some Reputation around before giving it to Joe Redifer again."

    Damn...

I don't play old stuff for nostalgia, I play old stuff because the games are better.

You don't have a bad voice. I think mine sucks to though. I have been interested in doing youtube stuff for a while but voice/technological know how. I think they are really good reviews.

Any chance you're be continuing this series Melf? Really enjoyed the Todd in Slimeworld vid; always hated that game and you made me change my mind. Good stuff!

Some "pro gamer" Renovation got for the Gaiares magazine ads, known for having a very 80's/90's mullet.
