I am in search for the elusive JVC X'eye power supply. It is JVC part AA-S95J and has a rating of 9.5v 1.5a. I will be willing to buy, using paypal for payment.

IF you have a cdx you can use that power supply.

I do not have the cdx, I am looking for either power supply, I will even be interested in another power supply with the same rating.

Personally, I have never bought anything from this shop, but this power supply should do (just to get an idea):

I know Radio Shack has a similar PSU (tip1.7mmx4mm), around the same price, although I'm sure there are 100's of them cheaper all over Evilbay....

I've used a universal power adapter for it, it makes it run but causes interference on the tv. I am a little weary about universal power adapters.

Most universal power supplies are yukie and underrated, not recommended whatsoever...

I did get a suggestion to use this power supply, http://www.kpsurplus.com/products/view/19638 but I would have to change the tip with a genesis 2 power supply tip.

Believe it or not, that is the same model I am currently using on my X'Eye. Whenever I go to a flea market or whatever, I am always digging through the boxes of adapters to find one with the right ratings. One thing, though, besides replacing the tip, you will need to reverse the polarity on it.

How do you reverse the polarity? I know how to switch tips.

When you switch the tips. you just swap the wires. Normally, one is black and the other has a white or gray stripe on it, just swap them so that the black wire on the plug goes to the stripe wire on the tip and then the opposite.

Ok, thanks. I would have probably not switched the polarity, and that would be bad.

If you look on the wall plug where it lists the specs, it states that the center is negative and the X'Eye needs the center to be positive. I gave you some misleading info earlier. I dug out my power cord and since the Gen2 cord is round and the inner wires aren't well labeled is to use a multi-meter or continuity tester to figure out which color is the center and which is the ring. Do the same for the Canon plug and then swap them. Hope that makes sense.

It does make sense, thanks for all the help. I would hate to ruin an x'eye.

Not a problem. Check out this thread here to see the results of the region mod that I did on my X'Eye.
