You know what I hate? The idea that anybody with a YouTube account is a fag. Seriously, YouTube is not exclusively filled with 8 year olds trying to act like the AVGN and anybody who thinks this shouldn't be posting on forums. There ARE great reviewers who use YouTube as a place to post their works.
In other words, I'm gonna check out your channel and your affiliates.
we are just trying to show are opinions of games any feedback is welcome we know we need to improve. and ignore the boris cartoon thing that has nothing to do with me lol
I was making a blanket statement about the general consensus of the kind of demographic YouTube caters to. I'm not exactly the one to start writing laundry lists of things people could improve with their own videos.
If you want to get serious about this, you will need a capture card. It will be nearly impossible to attract any viewers without it, since it is difficult to see your TV. A nice mix of captured gameplay with recorded audio comments dubbed in will make a huge difference. You are on the right track though!
I used an ATi TV Wonder USB 2.0 for almost 10 years, and it always served me well. They can be had for a song these days ($10-$15), however, driver support ends with Windows XP. Just one inexpensive option to consider if you have an XP box you can use.
Capture card, "High Definition Graphics" model 1 Genesis / Mega Drive, a decent audio editing program (the intro was WAY to loud and totally distorted, it almost blew my headphones).
I'd recommend Audacity which is free software under the GPL.
I was gonna say there's nothing wrong with just setting the camera on a table, zooming in on the TV screen and never moving it, but that could work too I guess. The only problem with those capture cards is it's hard to get one that doesn't have any problems with older cards. I asked about this and never got any solid answer. IMO it's years too late to get into the PCI capture cards. Try out one of those USB capture adapters, the one I have works pretty good but the driver is crap.
Also, if you're going the capture card root you'll also have to buy a microphone. These can also be a bitch to find when you need quality equipment.
You know nothing.
Every competent sound shop between here and hell likely has some Shure SM57 or SM58s in stock for 'when you need quality equipment'. They're virtually indestructible, and are the widely considered the standard by which all dynamic microphones are measured.

Where there's quality there's crap. It can be hard to tell between the two without knowledge beforehand. Hence my warning to Markss.
"You'll also have to buy a microphone. These can also be a bitch to find when you need quality equipment." != "Where there's quality there's crap. It can be hard to tell between the two without knowledge beforehand."
Saying "something reliable is hard to find" is not the same as saying "use common sense when picking out equipment you don't know much about"
Your warning sucks and is practically non-existent. Nicethough.
Whatever. It doesn't make my comments on capture cards less relevant. If you want I'll make the boo boo all better and edit my first post. Is that alright Mr. KD?
Of course it doesn't, it still makes your second comment on microphones an uninformed statement being justified with irrelevancy.
Do what you want. I've already quoted your for context of my response and that's not going anywhere.Originally Posted by Guntz
If Markss wants a serious microphone that won't crap out, the SM57 is the best choice. It's the professional standard, and can be found 'everywhere'. It should cost around 100 bucks for a brand new one.
we are using sony vegas to edit im not sure what version because i havent been doing the editing. What you lot think then good or bad?
