    Thank you.
The Sega Mega Drive (or Genesis in USA) isn't region free. There's 3 configurations according the geographical region of release:

    - Sega Genesis USA / Americas (NTSC / 60Hz)
    - Sega MegaDrive Europe / Australia (PAL / 50Hz)
    - Sega MegaDrive Japan (NTSC / 60Hz)

If you want to play a game with regional protection in another region system you have 3 options:

    - Modify the console with a region switch: The most safe method with full compatibility, but you need open the console, solder some cables and install a switch

    - Patch the rom using a hex editor or UCON64 utility, but in my tests don't work in some cases.

    - Use Action Replay or Game Genie device, i don't know about everdrive compatibility.

Personally I recommend the region switch method, however i have 2 consoles from different regions

Many games are region free. Some aren't, and for those, you need patches. There are plenty of Game Genie codes to make carts region free, and it's usually a good practice to apply those patches ahead of time when writing the files to the SD card. Programs like ucon64 can apply GG codes to files.

Okay, just a few things... I got my Everdrive yesterday. And it's great! No major problems running any games. I'm in the US (NTSC). And when I tried (E) roms the Everdrive had Region Auto Patching... So everything worked fine for me! Also FYI mine came with Super Mario Bros 1 homebrew port already flashed on it. So when you get yours just goto play game first...
RELAX!! Pretend it's a game.. Maybe it'll even be FUN!!

I got Sailor Moon to work when using the Bishoujo Senshi Sailor Moon (J) [b1] rom. Apparently this is a bad dump, (noting the [b] in [b1]) but it was the second rom I tried since Bishoujo Senshi Sailor Moon (J) [!] didn't work with either the region patch or megakey options on.

Yeah I just received mine yesterday and I love it. Ordered from http://store.kitsch-bent.com/product...rt-with-sd-mmc and no problems were encountered. Fast shipping. Looking forward to future developments with the everdrive.

That is a bad dump indeed. "Bishoujo Senshi Sailor Moon (J) [f1]" and "Bishoujo Senshi Sailor Moon (J) [f2]" should work too and aren't bad dumps.

No the machine isn't region free. Most of its games however are.

And I have yet to run into a single game for which there isn't a region free hack available. Look for [p#] and [f#] ROMs in the GoodGen set.

Oh yeah! But it's just one guy making these and very limited quantity... You need to join their mailing list to get a leg up on when they will be in stock! I got a 2 hour warning last time, and I probably bought the first one!

I got mine early - he emailed asking if I'd wait for the first V2 board or if I wanted a V1 board instead. Naturally, I waited for the V2. I've since updated it to the latest firmware and os.

Hi! a question, someone test that really don´t work the megacd bios in a MegaCD1 PAL+Megadrive 1 PAL ?

I want to buy one Everdrive, but my priority is to play all my original JAP MegaCD games, without need to patch and burn all again...

In the KRIKzz's web page say that this combination don´t work... someone else tested?

And someone tested, for example, a MegaCD1 PAL + Megadrive JAP + Everdrive? buy a new megacd is expensive, but a new megadrive JAP is cheap...

    Thanxs

I like that, and I just found out about the Everdrive. I like that too.

It'll be a couple of months - I have some expenses in the pipeline already that I've budgeted for - but I'll be getting one of these and I'd LOVE that decal. In fact, I was already thinking about this exact thing earlier today.
