I did - even used Western Union to pay for it. If I remember correctly, it was a little over two weeks to get mine, but that was partly due to the fact than he was updating from the 1.x to the 2.0 PCB at the time.

I assume that he means the cases that Mega Cart, Beggar Prince and Legend of Wukong came in ? The cartridges are shaped like those of the Genesis and European Mega Drive but do feature a space for the Japanese cartridge lock to fit in.

Could anyone do a write up on how to program the firmware using a PC? Don't want to fork out 200 big ones for a byteblaster :S

This is what you need to flash the firmware, you will also need a 10pin header (this was confirmed by krikzz on the assembler forums)

    Flash unit

    http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll...ht_3407wt_1141

    10 pin header

    http://cgi.ebay.com/10-Pin-header-So...#ht_2759wt_907

You will need this software to flash it:

    https://www.altera.com/download/software/quartus-ii-we

This is a vid with the steps you need to take to flash the everdrive.

(This is taken from the assembler everdrive forums, I have not tried it yet myself)

    Hope this helps

I might be a little ignorant posting this, but have there been any super-important features added to the firmware that would affect a shmuck like me that's just playing no frills Genesis games? From what I've been able to gather, most of the latest updates have been for SegaCD and SMS support correct?

I've been thinking about getting the update hardware together, but I'm having a hard time worrying about it since the Everdrive has worked perfectly for me so far. I think mine came with Firmware rev 8.

    Cheers!

After a few weeks with this lovely cart, i find myself facing the same dilemma i had with emulation on my PC, too many games! I find i only play a game for a few minutes before wanting to try something else.

Too many games, not enough time.

Yeah, that's because you're all excited and curious. I was the same way. Eventually you'll wind down and play games for longer before switching to something else.
