I understand you...
I'm still trying to discover why the Codemasters mapper of Master System games are not supported by the Everdrive MD, 'cause Master Everdrive and Everdrive GG support that.
I don't know if Codemasters only used a different mapper or if they, also, used different video modes that MD's VDP does not support. I don't know...
But I would like to be able to play the Codemasters SMS games using the Everdrive MD, 'cause they are among the best ones.
EDIT: I got an answer from KRIKzz
"codemasters mapper not implemented because ED MD cpld chip already used on 100%, need some optimisation of current design for fit some new functions in CPLD"
So, it's possible!

I just noticed something... I cant turn on Hard reset on my everdrive. I guess I have an old firmware. I bought mines in around july of last year. DO i absolutely need hard reset to work?
Overlord Krikzz... Is there anything you can do about this? That re-translated phantasy star is really the reason for replaying this masterpiece...
The Codemasters games use a different mapper than normal SMS games. If there's not enough gates left to implement it, he'd have to cut some other feature to add it. Also, any games that use 224 line displays (like Micro Machines and Cosmic Spacehead) won't work on the MD either as the MD VDP doesn't support that mode. SG-1000 games run, but the display is blank because the video modes the SG-1000 used are not supported by the MD VDP.
So I just updated my OS to version 24 and I noticed that the 32X version of Mortal Kombat II no longer boots up. I just get a black screen. Other 32X games boot fine.
Maybe I should wait on this Flash Drive until some of the kinks are worked out. Whenever I decide to buy one, is it going to come with the latest firmware?

Ordered my Everdrive MD from Stoneagegamer earlier today.
From people that own it, do you think it's well worth the money? I don't wanna buy something that is gonna have problems loading games, or have glitches and errors. Is there a master list of known games that don't work with it?

I own the Genesis Everdrive and the Super Nintendo Everdrive and I can tell that other than the fore-mentioned problem with Phantasy Star II and a little problem I had with my Super Everdrive which krikzz himself guided me through. I can say that its been nothing but smooth sailing. As with everything, yes there are certain games that won't boot because the Rom is bad or a translation that is only supported on emulators but you'll figure those out in no time. This is probably the best decision I've made for my old school gaming. So you should definitely consider it. Chances are you wont have any problems with it at all.
Only issue I ever had with my Everdrive was when I tried to run MDEM's First on it. And even then that was partially at fault of the software/hardware (as in, the Mega Drive).
Otherwise, absolutely brilliant hardware.
I think the "retranslated" version you are using is the cause of the issue. Most likely, the patch has not been tested on real hardware and the patched ROM does something bad with hardware (remember emulators do not emulate all the tricks and undocumented things because it's uneccessary with well coded games). I don't think it's an Everdrive issue as I tried all PSII revisions and they worked fine, with or without hard reset.
PS: I think Hard Reset is an OS feature, you can have it by updating the Everdrive OS. Or you meant it's there in the option menu but you can't turn it ON ?
Yes, sort of. I'm building one (I love lists...). And just updated for you: http://www.sega-16.com/forum/showthr...555#post364555
My opinion about Everdrive MD: You are just wasting your time waiting man! It worth every single penny of your money and is pure fun, really! You will enjoy the Master Sytem games too! Some SMS games really complement the MD game library (even in the tech department they are great!): "Ys: The Vanished Omens", "Phantasy Star", "Wonder Boy 3 - The Dragon's Trap", "Master Of Darkness", many Disney games...
MD never released games (Migh and Magic 3, Stone Protectors - great game...) or Asian pirates...
You'll enjoy the awesome MKII, MK3 and UMK3 (not that with 10MB but there's another one with 4MB and some good addtional stuff) hacks, RPG translations, re-translations... MIJET patches... Man, run for it now!
If you have any difficult finding the right roms or patching them, just send a PM to me and I'll PM you whatever you need, OK?
That guy is doing something wrong or his old Everdrive is incompatible, 'cause my PCB 2.4 + OS v24 is working perfectly with the re-translated version of Phatansy Star II.

Hell yes it is! I got mine after I had already shelled out the $80 or so for a Tototek MD-Pro, so if it didn't live up to my expectations, I imagine I'd be pretty pissed off. Well worth it.
Whittling my ROM folder down to less than 2 gigs without cutting any unique titles was sure a pain in the ass, but I can't really fault the Everdrive for that. I've had very, very few problems with it since I got it set up. Just be prepared to make several folders with 200 ROMs apiece (or 250 with the new OS).
I had Firmware 13 and os 23. After I saw this I copy/pasted the os25 into the everdrive sd card. I upgraded the os now ever time i load a game is says rom type md erase/copy. Why this happen. Do I need to erase all the games off and then put back on?
I also notice my old saves are don't work so I erased that file from the sd card as well as the osv25.bin and it is not needed. Now also when game loads it doesn't show the number amount loaded
