Yay!
I should have my Everdrive MD in the next day or two. Just in time for the weekend!
Thanks Stone Age Gamer!
Received my Everdrive MD today (err Saturday) in the mail.
Having a ball with it, however I have noticed something peculiar with the Master System support.
I was under the impression that button 1 on the SMS controller mapped to B and button 2 to C. Seems reversed on my system. Button 1 maps to C and button 2 maps to B.
Is this a Everdrive issue, or does it work like this also when using a Powerbase converter? I have tried it with both a 3 button and 6 button Genesis controller with the same results.
I assume using a regular Master System controller would alleviate this.
Thoughts?
You're going to need a halt switch, as the ED game selection menu locks up when the system is in overclock mode. Alternatively, you can select your game, start it, power the system down, power it on, and choose play game from the main menu (This one still works when in OC mode).
You can never have enough
yes, button B is seen as button 1 by SMS software, and C is button 2.
What game have you been trying that make you think buttons are inverted ? I didn't notice such problems and I hardly see how Everdrive could change the way controller is responding in Master System mode.
No it won't. The console does not make any difference and both controllers are read the same way in Master System mode . Buttons B/C status are always output on the same lines as Buttons I/II. If they somehow got inverted (and you confirm B and C are not inverted in Mega Drive games), it can only be because the data is modified somewhere before it's read by the game. If you have firmware v13+ and megakey option is enabled, try disabling it, maybe it has side effects in SMS mode even if I doubt it's even possible for Everdrive to switch those data lines.I assume using a regular Master System controller would alleviate this.

Guys... does the Everdrive NOT support micro-SD? I've used the same SD/micro-SD card for over a year on my Gopher and I just received my Everdrive from Tototek and when I tried it on my MD it didn't detect the card![]()
all cards should work.
OS v23 will not recognize your card if you use fat32 or sdhc card, all non sdhc cards should works fine
OS v28 may not work with some random cards
micro sd it is same thing as standard sd. SD adapter is a main problem of micro sd, this thing may stop work properly in some day, by this reason better to use standard sd card without adapter because such solution is much more reliable
How can I update OS and/or firmware?
This is the card I'm using. It works flawlessly on my pc, mac and the Gopher:

you can't update if your sd card does not work. probably your card was not formatted by build in format tool. may be this manual may help
When I turn the MD on, I go to "format" and I get a message "Initiating MMC... SD card not detected".
EDIT: Ok I just bought a new 2 gb SD card, formatted in FAT32 again just in case... and it works. Sorry, I can't be more stupid. I was using a 4 gb card before![]()
The Everdrive is awesome, thanks KRIKzz!!!
Diabetes sucks!
I enjoy it, the Master System Everdrive, and the SNES everdrive quite a bit! These have replaced my need for emulation and buying random games just to see how they really play. Now if I could just land a reasonably priced ED64 with CIC.
you know a good source where they have still some in stock?
I need this :P
edit:
I ordered now from tototek für 91,-$. Seems fair, no shipping costs and they had exactly 1 piece left in stock. Now it is sold out. I got very lucky on this one![]()
