    Sonic Double Take: Knuckles Chaotix

Knuckles Chaotix is a game that stirs controversy whenever it's mentioned. Some people enjoy its distinctly unSonic-like gameplay, considering it a solid attempt at bringing something new to an established formula. Others hate the rubber band dynamic and the weird level design, citing the game as something better left on the cutting room floor. Staff writer Christian Matozzo is of the former frame of mind, and he's not afraid to show his love for this unique 32X title. Read all about it in the latest installment of Double Take.

Glad to see this game has another true fan. This game often gets a bad rap because of the rubberband physics, but I really enjoy it. And the music cannot be beat!

I still have yet to buy a copy of this game. Mainly because I'm attempting a cart, instructions and box 32X collection and Knuckles Chaotix CIB is a little expensive. I also don't want to play the game on an emulator because it isn't the same as on the actual system. I have no much Sega hardware now, it wouldn't make sense.

id like to see a more in depth critique of the shitty control but oh well, i guess it could be fun for some people.

It's a fun game, and the music's great. It's just not my favorite Sonic game. I can understand why some don't like the controls. They do take a while to get used to.

To be honest, I quickly got used to the controls, thankfully for me. Anyways, glad there are some dedicated fans for this game. Gets bashed too much just because its on a failed platform. It does seem the "Odd One Out" compared to the rest though.

Nice to see a positive review for the game. I always liked it, and I get tired of people constantly bagging on it in reviews.

I hated this game when I first played it, and couldn't make my peace with it for a long time, even though I really wanted to like it! Eventually though I did learn to like it quite a bit, and now I'm a fan. I just wish I could track down a complete copy of it now.

Great game. I managed to get my complete copy for 10 dollars although it isn't in the greatest condition. Too bad that people didn't really like it back in the day.

I still don't particularly care for this game and not because it isn't a Sonic game. It was nice to see them try to do something different, but I don't really feel like it was executed very well. Never could get into that whole bungee concept and the noticeable lack of enemies (I guess the game was more about getting through the level as quickly as possible. It's certainly not the worst game in the world, but it isn't exceptional either in my opinion.

$10 is a pretty good price. Actually that's a good price for ANY 32X game complete. Anything less and the game likely has flaws (how ironic in your case). I had the chance to bid on a Knuckles Chaotix that sold for $29 lately but I missed the end of the auction. Ah well, a low ending auction will definitely happen again since it has before. I shall continue to wait. I have other 32X games to play in the mean time.

Oh yeah, I missed this auction as well. Made me pretty angry that I didn't bother to do anything about it. Sure the game is crap but it's a tad rare:

I'm gonna go out on a limb and say in this case, popularity = sales. I wish Knuckles' Chaotix sold better back then, maybe as good as Doom or Star Wars Arcade. There would be more copies to go around then. Everybody owns Doom and/or SWA, so they regularly go for cheap.

I've always wanted to get a 32X just to play this game. All I need is a damn jumper cable and I'll get one for free. The store I go to had 2 copies of Chaotix for $19 the last time I was there.

    I've never owned a 32X
Knuckles Chaotix is always a game that grabbed my interest, however, it generally seems to get average reviews and that has put me off. The bosses look cool though.

I for one HATE Knuckles Chaotix, to me next to Cosmic Carnage it is the worst 32X game ever made.
