Default enter the password to unlock your iphone backup file

Before i start this thread i want to make it very clear that this is the first and last time i ever act so stupid whilst falling asleep. Right now i have that out of the way feel free to degrade me and take away any stripes i have

Last night (whilst being very sleepy) i decided to erase and back up my iPhone so i could sync it with my new laptop. Whilst doing this i encrypted my back up file so no one could get access to my 'private' stuff, Here comes the problem.
Like a fool i typed my password without even thinking about it (one of my ten passwords i use-------so i thought) Anyway i tried to sync and restore the saved data and guess what, Yep i have forgotten what password i used or i must have misspelt it.

My question. Does anyone know of a way round this, or do you know of any mac applications that can maybe hack my password. A thousand thank yous in advance if some genius can help me out, as google is coming up with nothing useful for me.

this is why I don't password protect things that don't really need it, and if I do, I make sure to use the same disposable password that only keeps strangers out. Why did you want to erase your iPhone, btw? all you have to do is deactivate in iTunes.
