Default Turning an RF into AV

Thats my Gamecube RF Adaptor. I'm just wondering if its possible to splice it with a standard set of AV cables to get AV quality gameplay. RF is starting to piss me off, the quality is just plain shit, especially on my new TV.

I doubt it unless in the end which plugs into the GC is a full set of pins.

Wouldn't it be cheaper and easier just to buy a GC av lead?

Well acctually I can get an AV cable from Hong Kong for $2, but that would probably take 3 weeks to get here.

but you could do it for free if you have a soldering iron and some old controllers you can take the wire from.

How about This one instead? it's not ended, has S-Video as well, and is still in the US.

they make composite cables for gamecube, they are just kinda hard to find i think. (the ones with the red, green and blue and seperate red and white audio plugs)

Composite = Yellow for video (composite) plus red/white

The red/green/blue is Component video, and the cable is rare and pricey.

The Component cable is also not backwards compatible, and it also does not work on later Gamecube games

Please do not recommend composite/S-Video combo cables to anyone. The S-Video part is almost always just a splice of the composite side, which creates a very horrible transparent checkerboard pattern which is quite noticeable. The only way you will get true S-Video in Nintendo AV cables is by buying a strictly S-Video only cable. It isn't a 100% guarantee, but it sure is more reliable than the 1% chance of getting a good S-Video signal on the combo cables.

    EDIT: Also:

So what is the best AV connection for UK gamers?

    It's RGB, right...?

RGB Scart on SD stuff, on xbox360 RGB SCART can do 720p.

DVI-D on HD stuffs, if not HDMI.

    then VGA

    then component.

    then s-video

    then composite / scart non-RGB

    then RF.

    Yeah, 64k, I know THAT!!

I was asking, if the component cable is so rare for the GameCube, then what's the next best option for UK GameCube owners?
