No, I guess I didn't explain myself well enough. I have not played the games so much that I have burnt out on them. I've played through their NES predecessors and after seeing that the SNES sequels were pretty much the same thing with prettier visuals I felt no need to play them to completion.

Also, for the record, a good game is something you can't burn out on. A good game that you grow tired of? Now that's a contradiction/Oxymoron. "This game is so good, I'm sick of it and don't want to come back to it!", that doesn't seem right.

For example, I've played through the original Metal Gear Solid about 7 times in the past 4 years and I can still have a blast playing it even though I know it inside and out. Same goes for Sonic 1 & 2, Sonic 3D Blast, Streets of Rage 1 & 2, Golden Axe, and Revenge of Shinobi.

This thread is odd. I have to choose one system over the other based on this guy's preferences? Rubbish.

It should be a fight to the death between my own Top 5 SNES & Genesis games. And considering the fact that my favorite SNES games are some of the best games ever, the SNES wins by premature ejaculation.

    ...

That's right. I don't even have to list five SNES games to win this one.

Clearly you have never played a game dozens of times, believe me"yes" you can get burned out from playing a game too much, even a "Great".

Also you are on drugs to think the SNES games are more of the same games that were on the NES.

That's like saying SA2(when SA2, and the Genesis Sonic games are completely different) is more of the same games, just on a new console. The only thing NES games, and SNES games have in common, are ther titles, nothing else, the game format for most games are completely different from the comparable games on the NES.

Now if anything is more of the same, but just with better graphics, It's the SMS-Genesis(hell a bunch of SMS games were ported/remade for the genesis)

PS. Wow, you really don't understand the term burned out do you? If you are burned out, and take a break from the game, you can still desire to replay it at a later date. Just because you're burned out, doesn't mean you'll never play said game ever again.

Not true, I've logged over 200 hours total into Fallout 3 and don't ask how many times I've started over. I've also got a little over 124 hours from Counter-Strike (in various forms).

As far as my opinion on the SNES goes, don't get me wrong, I do like some of the new stuff that came out for the system. Star Fox, Earth Bound, Chrono Trigger, and Pilot Wings are all great, but everything else doesn't really catch my interest. Just a matter of opinion.

Also, I think you got the SMS/Genesis thing reversed. Sure, there were a few ports in the beginning of the Genesis' lifespan, but after Sonic, most of the popular Genesis titles made their way to Game Gear and Master System.

Yeah, I bet I can dig that thread up. I was on Zoltor's side of the argument, but I think ours went a little better because I wasn't a complete cocksmack.

    I think, anyway.

120-200 houres is nothing, "especially" for online games, so of course you didn't get burned out(hell I clock a hell of a lot more time then 200 hours on most non online games without getting burned out).

It sounds like you are a long way away from getting burned out, check back when you clock real hours(for online games, you'll need to clock atleast in the hundred thousand+ hour range to even get to such a point, and for non online games, it varies drastically depending on the game).

Okay, that's a little out of hand. I hardly have time to play games as it is, let alone invest all that time in them.

By your standards, I'll never tire of any game ever.

Ya hear that, Sega Fan? It ain't NUTHIN!!

Good lord, is this guy for real?

    Anyway, here it is:

And Sega Fan, don't you dare try to say you're burned out on a game unless you've been playing it 24/7 for eleven goddam years. Got it?

we aren't talking non stop here lol. You would be amazed at how fast time builds up(It's about consistancy, not playing a ton of hours in one day).

You would be amazed at how much game time you can get in just playing 3-4 hours a day.

I don't have a ton of time either, and rarely spend more then 4 hours a day on gaming(except perhaps on weekends/days off of work), but yet get up there in the hours.

Okay, I can understand that hours add up, but I tend to want to play games more if I've been away from them. The reason I come back to my favorite games after weeks/months/years of not playing them is because I enjoyed the time I spent with them and I want to keep playing. Doesn't matter if it's the same content, if something is good then it's good. Games don't get worse the more you play them.

That's why we have WOW addicts.
