    Sad Sega 32x power issues

Hi I bought a sega 32x on ebay and it seems to be broken I have all the cables for it and I also tested it on both the megadrive 1 and 2 and has the same issue. When I power my megadrive on I get no signal then get a flicking screen on my CRT tv and on a LCD tv I get a distorted picture. Im guessing theres not enough power goin in to it or a Capacitor has blown? can someone help me please since I posted this problem on the "Ask general" part of this fourm and no one could help me.

have you tried a different psu?

have you checked and setup you cables correctly?

a picture if the setup and the TV when it's playing up will help.

Can voltage regulators degrade over time or do they just up and die?

Just to be perfectly clear, is this an American 32X , Japanese or PAL megadrive 32X system?...And your Megadrives, are PAL or NTSC?...

I'm trying to point the discussion towards a possible culprit of the problem by people who understand the subject more thoroughly than I do.

Yes it could possibly be a faulty voltage regulator if it's not the AC Adapter. I would replace the AC Adapter before looking inside the console however.

don't know dude, if you're having massive issues with it, ive got one for sale that actually works and a couple o' games.

short of reattaching the ribbons and checking the cables Im not sure what to suggest.
