Well I know some of the people from the site IRL, it's a good site nonetheless.

There's never anything for sale on the forums though, forget it. Trying to find a deal there is worse than eBay sometimes.

That's a bad comparison, as It's pretty common to find deals on ebay, perhaps you meant Craigs list, but yea, It's pretty easy to find deals on ebay.

The best thing for me personally to come out of Digitpress was some guy named Melf showing up and saying "Hey, I made this site for the Sega Genesis!"

Then a year later we got a forum, then Digitpress got less and less appealing. Then they started that money thing which has been gone for years. I never got back into the habit of frequenting there, since all I did was mess around in Genesis threads and the Off Topic forum.

Which I do here, but people actually know me so I stay.

We need a chat room.

I hated that stupid "money" thing. I had dial-up at the time and absolutely against waiting around for everyone's "bling" to load.

But the thing about DP is that I hardly what I would call a well known poster, but here I'm rather well known.

Well, I think that's because there's also a much larger fanbase at Digital Press. And it's all intertwined with events and whatnot. Between the store, MGC, CGE, etc. etc.

And the site is down again, I'm not surprised.

Vinny, we do have a chat room by the way, but no one frequents it. Maybe if we advertise it a little here in the Off-Topic forum?

Well the larger fanbase is a plus and a minus. Mostly I enjoy DP because if I want to look for something in the buy/sell section, there are more people out there that might just have it.

I've found some older computer parts on there that I'm pretty sure I couldn't get on here with our limited (compared to DP) members.

Yeah. Does that for me, from time to time. Shame, as I like to frequent a few forums (one is just boring, although Sega-16 is pretty damn active). I don't post much there, but read quite a bit of threads in the classic/retro section.

I've been on DP for years and it's gone through cycles of stability and frequent down times. Apparently we're back to the frequent down times.

I remember we use to have contests on here, and I attempted Secret Santa once. That's as far as we've gotten for events unfortunately....

But where is this chat room? It must be like right in front of me but I'm not seeing anything.
