All the mods out there seem to use a model, so I was wondering if a model 1 would work.

the higer dome of the case id imagine should help alot, the whole thing is just alot more 'open'
shouldnt be any limitations in making one with a model 1
What's the going rate for a Neptune these days? Still 140?
I made a model1 neptune.

Old PIC... Now it looks a lot more messy than that![]()
The VA7 would give the most room and use the least power (a standard 1.2A model 1 PSU should easily provide power for both given the VA7 is fine with .85A and the 32x is fine with .35A from the Genesis 3 PSU), but especially less heat to dissipate (overheating is a major concern for Neptunes and using a VA7 along with the large model 1 case and no RF shielding should really help).
The main problem is, of course the sound quality of the VA7 without modding... so ideally you'd CCAM that too, otherwise the best stock model 1 would be a VA6.8. (especially with a low power Hitachi HD68HC000)
Some VA6s have the Hitachi CMOS processor too, but they're uncommon..
It is, it's just that now it has more circuitry stuffed into there.
For scaling the video to 1920x1080 so I can play MD/32x on my monitor.
In other words, working on MD never ends (), I have a future plan for it (after I finish the ram cartridge and the video scaler).
