When you say it doesn't work; how exactly? Does it power on, but the CD doesn't spin? Is there picture? Do you get sound? Or is just not coming on at all?

Try replacing the fuse. Look on the motherboard for a component marked as "F301", and replace it with a Pico II fuse rated at 2.5A.

If you want to test whether it is the fuse or not. You can use a speaker wire to jump the fuse. Just wrap the wire around the fuse, don't let it touch anything else, and power it up. If it's just the fuse it'll work fine.

I used a screwdriver to jump them before I wrapped them. I did that so I could quickly remove it should something else be wrong.

I've purchased four that wouldn't power up. All four had bad fuses, and worked fine after replacement. All for a total of about $60.

    Thanks for the tips guys,
I opened it up today and saw that there was a lot of white oxidation around the chips pins and transistors. The metal shielding was rusty in some places. I guess this MegaCD must have been in a wet basement or something for a couple of years.
Jumping the fuse didn't really help.
I heard that cleaning the motherboard in the dishwasher helps sometimes. Any other tips?
