I went to the store, but I didn't check because I am low on money.

Are the Majesco pads the ones that have a blue mode button and a little switch in the middle for turbo and slow-mo? I've 2 of those gamepads and they work just fine, I haven't run into problems with them thus far and I've had them about 5 months now.
Up on the shelf; it's a bird, it's a plane, it's Sega Genesis! Faster processing than a SNES, more powerful than a TG-16, able to play 8-bit, 16-bit, 32-bit and CD-ROM games on a single system (with the CD, 32x and power base converter, of course)

I have that pad with the blue mode button and the slow/turbo selector and I LOVE it.

That's the Majesco pad. It's just a rebranded Interact pad. I did see a Sega Genesis pad that had the mode button upfront, turbo and had a Sega Part Number. I'll still see if I can find it... I want to know what it was called.

So, got the "official" 1st gen 6 button controller and I absolutely love it! The biggest improvement is the dpad and the slightly larger size. It's nowhere as big as the original 3 button, but just slightly larger than the majesco making it a more comfortable grip.

The dpad doesn't feel like it's "floating" on the controller making it waaaay better for quarter circle movements in fighters, etc.

Thanks to XMARLTONX for the trade!

So wait, you heard that third party pads where better than offical sega controllers?
Yes. I´ve still got an old joypad-review here with some different 6-button controllers. The rating system was in school marks from 1 (very good) to 6 (crap), just like in american schools with marks from A - F.
The original Sega 6 button pad only got a 4 (D) due to the smaller upper button row, that is also too close to it´s bigger brothers A, B and C, and a cheap d-pad without micro-switches (I´m not sur how these are called in English, this is a word-by-word translation from German). Also they say the pad was smaller than the 3 button pad and if you listen closely you could hear some cranking noise from it when you use it.
Unfortunately the other six-button pads were not that much better.
But even if this magazine was wrong, I´ve never heard anything positive about the Sega 6-button pad elsewhere too. Most people seem to think it´s not even worth mentioning...

Personally, I´m using an SG Propad 6. It´s not great either, the d-pad does not always react like I want it too...

Strange. I find the Sega 6-button pad to be the best pad ever. It fits so nice into my hands.

Buy stuff at the Magical Game Factory, WaterMelon's crowd funding video game development site!

Do YOU have any games you want to get rid of that haven't been reviewed on the site and needs to be beaten for the sake of this project? Send 'em to me and I'll review and beat them! I'll pay for shipping of course. Shoot me a PM if you're interested.

My favourite is the Dualshock 2, but the analog sticks get worn out too soon and it could be a bit bigger (I´ve got big hands).
But I´m willing to try the Sega 6-button once I get my hands on one.
The 3 button pads were alright after all.

I find the sega 6 button kind of good actually the D pad is loose and deep it gives much freedom, but maybe theres also diffrence between the japanese 6 button and the american?,i just made the cable longer because it was to short and i have ahhh great controller,BTW we european where always stocked with 3 buttons only which i did like also but one real big disadvantage the switching of moves iun street fighter/Mk 3/eternal champions/It also is getting star very quickly the 3 pad atleast when some button mashers had played on it i dont hate it the 3 button, for me its just missing 3 buttons Lol.Ps2 Dualshock is okay i find the D pad to tight on the controller you have only a few inches here ill show you.Il give a short trivia of a few.

When Street Fighter 2 SCE came out, I didn´t have the money to buy a 6-button pad too, so I became a real master in switching between punch and kick, hehe...

About the Dualshock: You´re right, the d-pad is pretty stiff, and since it´s divided into four parts it´s not very good for Street Fighter-games, cause you always have to do circles and stuff.

Okay as you can see a ps2 controller dual shock my uppinion about it,Like i sead the D pad is too deep for me my thumbs are goig to hurt after a while plaing street fighter,The controller when youre playing intense you probably dont watch what youre ticking then so youre fingers dont do the right move on the controller,no its the d pad: is it button mash free absolutly not the Shoulder buttons are going to get stuck the Analog yostick can break:but is it overall a good one.i dont prefer it for fighting games the 2D ones the those games prefer the D pad and for me it just isnt working great which it should but stil it doesnt negleckt the playing of 2d fighting games actually it works bnut not for me.I give it still a 9.

As You can see 3 button and 6 button controller megadive/genesis
    # button has nice 3 large button shaped for youre thumbs so you wouldt hurt the D pad is deep and thick i aint complaining about that, advantage ergonomic very good:disadvantage:street fighter and other use start as switch button:is it Button mash free, actually no the D pad can tomble very easely and the (dont know the word for it) Kool thats it is in dutch, the black stuf that gets colder whil temprature gets highre aah never mind, that stuff is breaking very fast of the rubber and the controller is unfixable it plays lamer after a while.
6 button Same gos for this in the Button mash section.it plays very fine only the xyz buttons are in addition but are Bol and that can hurt youre thumbs after a while the honyebee six button doesnt have this is has em all shaped for youre Thumbs that one is really great, only be carefull dont mash it,it feels really free in youre hands even if you have big hand it fits great.a 9,i actually have not a single problem with it,the six button passes out les soon the the 3 button and the D pad is loosener and then the ps2DS does for instance make a dummy test the ps2 controller wil not survive while Genesis does LOL.
