    Default Master System Converter II

Was this ever released in North America/United States?

I dont seem to find anywhere online that is has. If not, would the Europe (PAL) version work for the NTSC Genesis?

So, if it will "work" will it fit into the North American Genesis?

Fits just fine...Although the Genesis/MD model 2 needs the spacer (included with the Master converter II)...

By the way, I have one for sale ....Includes a FREE BONUS s-video+AV Jacks and region switch modded Genesis 2 system to go along with the converter ...Best offer please :

Will that fit into the 32x slot?

Also what is the diffrence between PAL and NTSC? Is this due to the same reason as to why some parts of Europe used diffrent types of elecrical outlets than North America?

It should, but it won't work through the 32X. It has to be placed directly into the Genesis cart slot.

PAL has a slightly higher resolution in exchange for less fps:

    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Broadca...vision_systems
    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/File:PAL-NTSC-SECAM.svg

Playing PAL games on NTSC would translate to your games running ~17% too fast, but since practically all PAL Sega games were made in NTSC territories and never adjusted for PAL you'll get to experience them the way they were meant to be played if you play them on NTSC hardware.

I want one of these so badly, but the high prices they go for on ebay kind of put me off from getting one since they cost about as much as a master system itself.

    I have one of these:

Works great. Same issue no 3D games which I don't care about.

There is nothing like the real official thing...First of all, those 3rd party master system converters including the tototek, are not even compatible with all of the SMS carts..Some games such as Wonder Boy III The Dragon's Trap don't work, and others..

Of course, the rare Master System converter II is not for everyone, might as well and get yourself a whole Power Base Master System instead ....Only for the authentic Sega Lovers, and its 100% approved...

Now that I'm thinking about it, I should keep mine...They look to be going higher in value every year...Although, I already have two ..

I'd love to get one of these myself, but frankly, I've never seen one even show up on Ebay! So I'm stuck with that super bulky Power Base Convertor.

I know that for this second version they took away the card slot, but weren't all the SMS card games later re-released in cartridge form?
