Just wanted to ask, when you will record Mortal Kombat 2 music, will you put normal, "finish him" and "victory" version of music of each stage in different files or you will put then in one mp3? (I would prefer them recorded in different mp3s)
Is Foxysen on both Steam and Skype

Separate. Like the other MP3's I made, I want to make them so that they loop properly. Say I put The Pit II as Track 1, Track 2 will be The Pit II's victory music. So on and so forth.

After Star Wars Arcade I will be starting MK2.

When I'm done with some real world work I'll post all of my After Burner recordings (PCE, GEN, 32X, Saturn). I love listening to each song in each iteration, just not in the car.

LOL I was about to say, we don't need any high speed collisions! I can't listen to Kenny Loggins' Danger Zone or the AfterBurner songs in the Z28 as it would result in a hefty speeding ticket!

Yeah, I can't find where I said I never recorded the After Burner soundtrack. After that post it slowly came back to me that I had four version's soundtracks recorded. Then I remembered why I never posted them, I have to edit the tracks still.

For the 32X game? I doubt it, it sounds like the Saturn version but much much louder. I'll have it all posted here in a bit.

Depends on the game. In Knuckles' Chaotix the Genesis' YM2612 did most of the music. The drum samples you hear were done by the 32X. The rest was all Genesis.

The 32X just adds 2 PWM channels and also frees up the 6th FM channel on the Genesis.

Interesting read about the 32X's sound capabilities:

I should have the Star Wars Arcade soundtrack up sometime this coming weekend BTW.

The very large majority of the music and sounds in After Burner were done by the 32X. The Genesis doesn't make much sound in the game. It's too bad the music doesn't contain the main melody (listen to After Burner on the SMS or Sega CD to hear the melodies that are absent). I think the JP Saturn version lets you select the version of the music with the melodies, but the US version from Working Designs does not have them.

Okay, I've posted my After Burner Music Comparison. They're 192kbps mp3s at 48000khz, and I didn't try to cut them off at a loop, I don't think After Burner's music loops all that much actually. It is possible that I didn't record long enough to notice a different chorus or whatnot, if I missed it I will re-record the track.

Awesome, thanks. I also do constant bitrate in video and audio recordings if that matters for the thread. Let me know if you find any problems, I don't need more than a request to re-record something.

Oh yeah, the PC Engine has the melodies, I forgot! In the first example of the tune called "After Burner", if you had just let it play a little longer, it changes up for a few seconds with a new riff. All versions do it. The "loops" in After Burner are longer than you'd think as they usually need to play twice before they change up again. I don't think Red Out or Super Stripe do this, though.

That's what I was thinking too. I'll have to re-record that track and check the others out at the same time. Crud, if only I could use my capture card in Windows 7, I hate shutting down my network (booting into XP) just to record something.

Cool thread! Thanks for the music... I'm listening to the Chaotix soundtrack now! ^_^
