I had the same problem earlier, and The Coop clued me in. Fairly obscure, since it depends upon your performing a type of action that hadn't previously shown up in the game.

Small question wants small answer: Is there something "special" about the final boss or do I need to grind a lot to beat him? My levels are 38, 34 and 31 and he seems impossible, so I think I either need to find/do something or grind a lot to kill him. Just a small hint answer please, don't spoil too much.

Do YOU have any games you want to get rid of that haven't been reviewed on the site and needs to be beaten for the sake of this project? Send 'em to me and I'll review and beat them! I'll pay for shipping of course. Shoot me a PM if you're interested.
Your levels are decent, but you NEED to use the Excel potions to keep everyone alive while you attack the boss. So basically plan on having one character using them after the first couple of rounds with the boss, and use Toby's force to attack as well (his Phoenix spell does a good 215 hp of damage to the boss). You'll be there for something like 5-10 turns doing this, but you'll beat him eventually.
Oh, and don't use the Excel potions until one of the characters is one hit away from dying. The boss does 600 hp of damage each time, so plan accordingly.
Currently Reviewing: Steel Talons
Coming Up:TF3 Side by Side, Gods
Done: RDF Global Conflict
Thanks a lot! Will try tomorrow.

Hey, The Coop, could you give me a hint about the dragon boss on Aury? Nothing I do is hurting him, and attempts at nonviolence have not succeeded so far. Plus the chick can't use magic anymore after the Crystal breaks. Is there a "trick" to it, or do I just need to level up more?

I can't believe how fast some of you are beating this. I'm still on the second planet, but I haven't played for 3 days.
Finished the game!
Rick 40, Toby 41, Grim 40
The last boss was really cheap, (absorb for 600 every round) but i managed to beat it with a bit of luck (3 critical hits in two turns ftw, without that i would probably be had to level a bit more since my characters were not doing consistently over 600 damage each turn).
This is unreal, yet another game that it seems everyone will finish before mine even arrives in the mail.
I seem to be on the ship only after most people have finished the game list![]()

Did anyone else get the message that the first batch is gone? If you ordered between the 22nd and the 27th you should be good - if it were after that might have to wait until the second batch which is already in production. I ordered mine at around 1157 pm on the 27th... USA Pacific time... I think I am gonna have to wait a bit longer... :-(
MY SEGAS[Model 1 Sega CD x 5] [Model 1 HD Genesis w/Component Video] [Model 2 Genesis] [32X CIB] [Master System Model 3010] [Nomad w/LCD mod] [Dreamcast] [Saturn] [Game Gear]
I beat the game. Needed to grind a lot at the final planet. The ending was so-so. Overall a good game, leaps ahead of Legend of Wukong, but a bit worse than Beggar Prince. I'll give all my thoughts in an upcoming Reader Roundtable. Thanks again for the help, The Coop.

I just lost all my saved games.
Last night I'd gotten to the boss, and was planning to do some grinding this morning so I could finish him off. I left my game in my Model 2 Genesis overnight, with the AC adapter and AV cables unplugged (which I always do -- there weren't any thunderstorms nearby or anything).
My game started up OK, but when I got into a battle, the name of the Onotonian character was corrupted -- there were graphic tiles and Japanese characters mixed in with, and surrounding, his namespace.
I reset the game, copied my savefile into an empty slot (from #1 to #2), and tried again from slot #1. Same problem with the Onotonian's name, and I saw that it was showing up in other dialogue boxes as well (not just battle mode).
I thought I'd try my copied slot next, and if that failed, I'd try my old savefile #3 (Level 27 vs. Level 32). But first, I powered off, pulled the game out, reinserted it, and powered back on.
And all my save files had been deleted -- all three slots were empty. 16-17 hours of work, gone.
There was literally nothing that could have happened to the game in the 10 hours between last night and this morning. It wasn't removed from the cartslot, the console was unplugged, and there are no little kids or pets around to mess with it. I'm not even using some sort of bizarro hardware setup -- just a plain, unmodified, US Genesis Model 2.
WTF, man? How does this happen?
