Woah Chilly, just tried this on my Genesis and TV, and I swear, I get this massive perception of flickering, and this feeling of a slow DLP color wheel thing when I move my eyes.. Music was good though! Didn't expect to hear anything..

PS: Here's how it shows on my TV.. I noticed it seems split down the middle of two different color palettes in the picture, but also that it has vertical banding too..

The last example uses interlace mode to improve the resolution. Older versions use just one frame, but have less resolution because of that. The first field is red/blue, and the second is blue/green.

There's no interlacing going on here, it's still in 240p on my hardware..

Or are you talking about the horizontal interlacing I think I see?

One of the posted examples is interlaced. The others just use horizontal scrolling on a line basis to change the palette. None of them work very well on emulators. They work best on real hardware composite NTSC out to a CRT.

The one I downloaded was: http://www.mediafire.com/?l43jp39v1683wdb

On my Genesis it's not interlacing at all.

Must be your TV - remember that many new(ish) TVs deinterlace TV signals. That demo DOES use interlacing.

This is a 70s CRT. It shows interlacing on sonic 2 but your demo is not interlacing here.

Very weird... it's interlace on my TV, and in emulators. Are you sure you're running the right file?

I ported Crazy Bus to the Sega Cd. According to Sega's standards of porting existing titles from the genesis to the Sega cd and adding CD audio.

You know what, on my black and white TV, I can clearly see the interlacing, but on the color 70's TV, it's really not so visible, almost hard to see, but I "can" make out the interlacing just a little bit.

Hmm - maybe it's harder to see because REALLY old TVs used really long decay phosphours to reduce apparent flicker in interlaced video. Or maybe it's partly due to the separation of colors (red/blue in the first field, and blue/green in the second).

Well I tried this. I looked at the black overscan and there is definitely no interlacing cause with brightness up I'd see that. But on fusion I do see the interlacing. I'll need to take another look at the black and white tv again to double check. The latest bad apple demo does interlace on both tvs.

Only one of the examples does interlacing. The others I posted don't use interlacing.

I'm aware. But I posted the link to the one I am using and it is NOT interlacing. In fusion it is so I can see where to look for it.

This is American va3 hardware. Perhaps however your doing it just doesnt work on some hardware.
