Because the site is currently under re-construction, one-post man.

Oh I dunno if it was discussed but didn't the pack in Sonic CD come with the CDX? I've seen it here and there over the years
The smell of scorched oil hangs in the air as a premonition of danger, while the engine gloriously shouts its war cry...

Throughout history, suspicion has always bred conflict. The real conflict, though, resides in people's hearts. This conflict has just begun.

    Default LOST VIKINGS SEGA CD

    Hi all,

its been a long time since i posted anything...and couldn't make a new thread so i posted here...admins please forgive me and kindly make a new thread!

I uncovered during my internet research that a lost vikings was planned for Sega cd through the resue of Chris Tremmel who had previously worked for Interplay Productions from 92 to 95...so i fired of a message to him in the hope he would reply...although no juicy beta or code remains...i have this, his reply:

    Hi Danny!

Nope, not bugging me at all, I truly appreciate the questions...

Now for the hard part... telling you that nothing really exists any longer in terms of Lost Vikings Sega CD.

    It was sooooo long ago, I will tell you what I can remember;

There were 3 people involved on the Interplay side; Alan Pavlish, Michael Stragey, and myself.

The other "Vikings" games, SNES and Genesis were done by Silicon and Synapse, with Interplay acting as publisher and creative partner.

    1) It was all new levels, but using all art sets from the SNES and Genesis Versions.
    2) There were "cartoon" cut scenes that played between the art sets and I believe that we only had one complete... This detail is a bit fuzzy.
    3) It was never actually running on the Sega CD, we were still using the Genesis version as the base.
    4) The story stayed the same.
    5) I used to have a notebook that had some actual LostVikings SegaCD test covers, or at least possible test covers. This notebook is MIA.
    6) Also in that notebook were the level designs.
    7) We started to add new functionality like angled rubber objects you could shoot an arrow into to make it bounce or ricochet to a switch that was unreachable.
    8) Ultimately when we started production on genesis Boogerman (which was the Lost Vikings engine basically), production on Vikings CD was halted.

I wish I could give you more info and show you all of the levels that were planned, but over the last 20 years, much of what I had saved has disappeared. I did have a laptop with everything on it that was stolen in 1994 or 1995... sad. It's funny, at the time the last thing I would have thought was that anyone would really care about this stuff in 20 years, but I find myself caring now more than ever... I was very short sighted, naive, and new to the industry at that time.

Again, sorry for the bad news.

What you are doing is very noble. The Sega systems and the Sega CD are still some of my favorite to this date. I was lucky enough to work on the sequel to Out of the World on SegaCd that did get released. Boy, the industry has really changed but I am happy there are people like you out there to make sure we don't forget how great and magical it was then.

Thanks again for asking about the game and feel free to email me anytime you might have a question that you think I can help with.

    Best Regards,

    Chris.
    Sega forever

    Nice find!
I've seen many times a game called Norse by Norsewest planned for Mega Drive and 32X and I was assuming it was Lost Vikings 2 but I didn't know another game was planned for Mega-CD.
