I'll have to agree with you on the first half. I did make it sound like a blanket opinion. In reality, it's just my own. You of all people should know what direction is game is going in. I'll admit my error on this one!

Nevertheless, do you also consider my last paragraph wrong? What's wrong with coding to explore techniques instead of getting mired in huge projects?
