Default WTB Sega Genesis Fighting System

I know it might seems pointless but I'm a collector of boxed sets for the Genesis. I like to hoard things as if I were running a warehouse. For example:

    http://farm2.static.flickr.com/1304/...85e5037a_b.jpg

There are also 8 boxed Genesis consoles total behind the ones in the front. I'm nutz.

I saw a Sega Genesis Fighting System on eBay a long time ago going for nearly $200 but I thought that price was ridiculously high. How much are these really worth and how un/common are they? If anyone can track one down with the box in very good to new condition (including all the box inserts and components as well) or has one on sale, I'd greatly appreciate it. Otherwise, I can't seem to find one anywhere.

That seller most likely chose too list it at $200 because he had no competition (so he knew if someone wanted it bad enough, they would pony up the cash for it). If his system bundle was virgin, some collectors will bite the bullet on the price to avoid being in the pickle you are in. I know two(or three depending in market fluctuation) of your minty cib genesis systems would have paid for your fighting bundle. Moreover, they can be found easily in the wild (unlike the fighting bundle) so restoring your system hoarding to full nutziness would not take long. Don't be afraid to shuffle out some of your more common finds to get that gem you have a gut feeling you won't see again. I will keep an eye out on the local/craigslist front for ya.

Sweet, thanks. The Fighting System that the guy listed seemed like it was almost new and came with everything so it was probably worth it. I would think it'd be past $100 but not $200 but if it's that hard to find then I'm wrong. Aside from that eBay listing, I've never seen it anywhere else since. The interesting thing is, his listing never sold and it was sitting on eBay for the longest time being re-listed. I would've bit the bullet, like you said, but only if I had enough cash at the time.

I have an extra CIB Sonic 2 System (it's behind the one that's visible in the pic) I can part with, it's just missing the inserts but still has the main cardboard tray inside and the box isn't in the greatest condition but it's intact. I'm also selling dupes from my collection.

Lol yeah, about that... Familiar with the seller issl? He used to sell Genesis accessories in bundles and they were new and legitimate. That's why I have 3 CIB stereo audio video cables, two CIB controller extension cables, and the overwhelming amount of 8 CIB Teamplayers. Why 8? I don't know. I hoard. The guy sold them all for cheap too. Ex: $14 bucks for three CIB stereo audio video cables.

This is all too weird. I was searching on the net for the fighting system and I couldn't find squat. Now I all of a sudden find it not too long after starting this topic? Odd. It's going for less than $60 bucks too. It includes everything right down to the box and manual. I'm afraid if I post the link someone might want to swipe it. I'm not gonna let this one pass me up. Wish me luck. I'm going to try and look elsewhere online just in case.

Edit: I might be wrong. It might just be a listing of a description. I'm going to investigate.
Edit 2: I figured as much. Got my hopes up. There's a function to notify me when these guys get it in stock but in the meantime I guess I gotta go hunting. Even google searches will only come up with 3 pages (using parenthesis) and only links to pages where they are mentioned.

Estarland will never get it in stock just gotta hunt. What your favorite box version of a Genesis system? my fav is the pack in with Sonic 1 on the left side of your pic.

Genesis pack in boxes sucked usually just a sticker in the bottom right corner (atleast in North America)

Lol, I figured the site would be an easy guess as to what I saw. Agreed, they'll never get it in stock.

For the model 1, it would have to be the Sonic one though it's a close one. I saw a different variant that looks interesting as well which I don't have. It's the "Sonic System" one. I forget if it's one of those that has a thinner box opposed to a thicker one. I always preferred the thicker model 1 Genesis boxes. Other than that, I like the Sonic one I have and the one to the right of that is one I got from Canada. I like the design of that one because it looks retro.

As for the stickers, none of my model 1 boxes have stickers on the bottom right corners. Maybe you're referring to the model 2 boxes? My "Super Sonic System" box has a sticker where it would normally say "Core System" on it but none of the other pack-in boxes I have for the model 2 (such as NFL '94 and the Sonic 2 System, Lion King, etc) have a sticker. It's printed on.

You would have been a good candidate for a dreamcast kiosk that I sold for like 75... you would have given me more right It was heavy as hell though so I needed a local pick up....

I'd would've been all for that. If you've seen my collection pictures, you'll notice I've been trying to create the "Ultimate 90's Sega Experience", if you will, in the game room of mine. This goes for having complete box sets on display to odd peripherals, arcade cabinets (which I sorely lack) along with official kiosks of course. I live in Cali though, not sure how far that is from you. I wouldn't have minded adding a couple of bucks to swipe it towards my direction.
