When you increase the screen size the frame rate goes down:
Sorry but that is truly a bad port of Doom.
I meant by like 1 more option i do own the game, i mean that is my YT video, i find the game very fun on the lower screen sizes. Just curious do you own many ports which do you like the best? the only one i am missing is the Jag and i will pick it up next time its going for cheap. I have played all the other ports to death (even the Saturn) the 3DO version is alright once you get used to the lower screen sizes.
I dont really own any ports, but growing up lots of my friends had various different systems with different ports of Doom, so I have seen the SNES, the Saturn, the PS1, and the 32X ports in person though it was a while ago.
However my best memories of Doom and Doom 2 come from my one friends house who's dad set up a LAN between all the computers they had and we would play LAN games of Doom.
We are defending it because considering how rushed it was and the hardware it still came out decent and better than ports on more powerful systems like the Saturn and 3DO. A framerate around 15-20 fps may not be ideal but its still very playable. Games like Daytona USA, Panzer Dragoon, and Quake on the Saturn are proof of that.
Oldschool, don't you put fucking words in my mouth, or insult any of us here.. Quit while your behind.

A thread where OldSchool complains about something and starts making belittling, intolerant and insulting comments toward those who don't agree with him?
Who'd of thunk it!
Anyway, I enjoyed the Saturn version of Doom more than the 32X version. Yes, the framerate is considerably lower, but the graphics are better and moodier, the sound is better (even if you do have to use mono to fix the sound), there are a lot more levels (just in Doom alone), all the weapons are there (how the hell did they forget to put the BFG 9000 in any of the levels in the 32X version?), the Cyberdemon's there, all the enemies have more than one side, it's full screen, and you even get a password save feature.
It's a very flawed port to be sure, but it's still more enjoyable to me. The 32X version is decent, and it's a nice intro to the game if you've never played one of the better home ports or PC original. But it just lost too much IMHO.

I'm again really tempted to make a thread just like this for OldSchool:
