Like I said on the YT comments, I didn't remember OutRunners arcade looking THAT great!
And OutRun 2006 is always awesome.

It's just top notch fun from start to finish.
For some strange reason I like the music in Turbo Out Run MD, in fact I run to that same track in Out Run 2006 Coast to Coast.![]()
Outrun is one of my favorite games ever, and it's not just nostalgia talking since I barely played the game until Shenmue 2 came out. I played the arcade game a couple of times back in the day, but it was pretty scarce around here. I picked up the Master System version (generally playing it on the Game Gear) but that was in the early 2000's. These days, I usually rock the PC Engine version that I picked up a few months ago so I don't have to dig out the Xbox.
The Saturn version looks like pure sex, and I have a Saturn racing wheel. I need to do something about that.

Just because I don't remind you what an awesome job you and Dave are doing, that doesn't mean I'm not thinking it every minute of every day.
Keep up the good work.

Cyber-Razor cut sir? - To be this good takes AGES - Raśl be with you.
I played the FM-Towns port of Turbo OutRun yesterday and it's surprisingly decent! It was also done by CRI like the After Burner port, but is thankfully not an atrocity like that one. Plus it has a cool redbook soundtrack.
Here's a vid of it (not mine)

I just passed-up an opportunity to buy Outrun 2006 on the PSP for $3 in a garage sale. Did I miss-out?
How many racing games have you played on the PSP?
Like most of the PS2 racing game ports to the PSP, Outrun 2006 is a little bit choppy. I have the Xbox version, that runs as smooth as melted butter, while the PSP game looks like it's running between 15-20 fps.
You should have picked it up for $3 though. It's one of the better portable racers on the PSP.

Thanks JDB! Anyway here is the latest episode:
Aside from Sin & punishment which I think actually is, those aren't considered rail shooters, you might as well call Gradius a rail shooter, just because there's only one general dirrection to go.
In a rail shooter, you aren't able to manually move at all, the computer decides how you move, and when you move, the player controlls the targeting/shooting, that's pretty much it.
No, it's a pretty wide genre. "On rails" just means the computer decides where you go. Panzer Dragoon most assuredly qualifies. I addressed this in the opening segment which you missed in which I said pretty much any shooter could be considered a rail shooter. But here you go. If your definition varies, that's fine.
Someone on Youtube commented that Silpheed is doing 3D rendering. The Sega CD is streaming vectors or some such for each frame and then renders them instead of streaming the entire thing as FMV. Any truth to this, techie peeps?
