Vic Tokai gave Mega Drive owners a duo of shooters that rank above the best on the system. the Battle Mania games featured beautiful visuals, rock-solid gameplay, and some really great humor. The first game made it across the pond under the Trouble Shooter moniker, but it was buried by the name change and some truly horrendous box art. Even worse, Vic Tokai opted to leave the sequel in Japan, thereby depriving western gamers of a true masterpiece. The only options available to North American and PAL gamers are a $100+ import purchase or emulation, and to be fair, the latter offers a full English translation courtesy of MIJET.
