    Megadrive Battle Mania Daiginjou

Vic Tokai gave Mega Drive owners a duo of shooters that rank above the best on the system. the Battle Mania games featured beautiful visuals, rock-solid gameplay, and some really great humor. The first game made it across the pond under the Trouble Shooter moniker, but it was buried by the name change and some truly horrendous box art. Even worse, Vic Tokai opted to leave the sequel in Japan, thereby depriving western gamers of a true masterpiece. The only options available to North American and PAL gamers are a $100+ import purchase or emulation, and to be fair, the latter offers a full English translation courtesy of MIJET. Whichever route you decide to take, you win, as this is one amazing game. Read our full review and then get out there and find it!

I don't play old stuff for nostalgia, I play old stuff because the games are better.

Looks like a good game if I had money to try it the right way, on cart.

Hey Melf, who spelled the game's title wrong? You or Greg?

What's the right way? I've seen it spelled about 3 different ways. I think the problem is there is no established way of transliterating the Japanese word to English.

The length of vowels is critical in Japanese (changes the meaning or can make a word incomprehensible if you're doing it wrong) and if you're going to transliterate Japanese into our alphabet, there are various ways to do so. So yeah, "Daiginjou" or "Daiginjô" (the way Guardiana lists it), I prefer the former way of writing it since it's closer to the kana. "Daiginjo" is incorrect, since there's supposed to be a long vowel at the end. Sorry, I'm a student of Japanese studies :P

That being said, I've been wanting this game for years now. It's one of those games that's pretty expensive even in Japan, where you can usually save quite a few bucks compared to ebay.

Well, in the bible it says there will be more retards in the last days than ever before. I'm not saying, I'm just saying.

Back to the game. I think that this game is a world ahead of the previous game and everyone should give it a shot and you may be suprised even if you didn't like the first one.

It's just one of those things. I try to blot them from my mind.

You would think as much as we've talked about not scoring a game you've never played people would freaking get it. Tards.

    Anyway, yeah, gotta try it!

I have Battlemania its a fantastic game.I would love to get hold of the sequel but narrowly missed out on a copy on fleabay recently for under $100!
I would totally recomend this series as there is really nothing else like it on the system and the original version on the Genesis called Trouble shooter isnt that hard to find at a decent price
