I think the Sega CD could have done a reasonable approximation of 3DO Road Rash, judging from Batman Returns and Adventures of Batman and Robin. I was always annoyed that they just used the Genesis engine and didn't even enhance the scaling in Sega CD Road Rash.
Going for pie in the sky.

That starfighter games looks pretty cool....but could the 32X have been able to handle it properly, or would it be capable of doing it better?
I'd bet that all of these would need to be 32X CD games to be anywhere close, and the two combined still didn't have enough RAM to do a direct port. But still, assuming clever texture streamlining, these games could play just as well on the 32X CD.
The main improvement would be the video sequences in the game. Make them TrueMotion and they'd have looked about as good as the PS1 version. The SCD version of the game was pretty good - it would only need minor changes taking advantage of the 32X, but the difference in videos would have made it worth getting something that was otherwise just a minor update.![]()
Again looking back at that cancelled games list, I wish Sega just would have been able to publish those games. It looks like Sega had a plan success for the 32X but as a company (I'm looking at you Sega of Japan) they just could not work together to support the 32X. There must be a lesson on running a successful international business in there somewhere
Again, makes me sad when I see all those cancelled games. The 32X/ Sega CD 32X could have been so much more![]()
Any game like or from the need for speed series
What annoys me to no end is that the 32X is the popular whipping post and not bad corporate communications/cooperation. Really, the 32X should be an historical example of how East-West relations still were in the 90s. Since the Kinect has sold as well as it has we know that "market fragmentation" and add-ons aren't as intrinsically stupid as the last fifteen years of gaming journalism has labeled them.
Very true! Unfortunately with Sega, they did not learn from their mistakes which really hurt the development of a proper Sonic game for the Saturn. Again this was an example of Sega of Japan not working with Sega of America to pool their resources and make a really good Sonic game for the system. I guess they finally figured it out during the Dreamcast era when I believe Sonic Team moved to San Francisco.
Sadly I see this again today with the Wii where popular and even fan demanded RPGs don't seam to make it over to the U.S. for some reason![]()
A real Sonic 32X title would've been nice.
Sonic 4 if it was released on the 32X would've helped it sell it.
-Doom 2 (with all levels and proper soundtrack)
-Out runners
-XeXeXex (Konami shooter)
-Arcade port of MK 3
