Hey Everyone, Just joined, liked the look of the site, 16 bit era is my era.

Been collecting classic consoles and games for years , long before it became 'retro'

    Bleh.

Anyways, I'm from England, and interested in any game if its good, but my heart lies with the Megadrive, and Sega in general.

A bit of SNK doesn't go amiss either.

    Anyways, Greetings and salutations!

EDIT: When I was registering, I was asked what the name of the CD attachment was that Sega made for the Genesis / Megadrive.

I answered: Sega CD / Mega CD

And was told I was wrong. -________-

    HOW ARE YOU GENTLEMEN!

(always wanted to say that, if there are ladies here don't feel excluded)

    Ahem.

    Hi.

Basically, you can read stories about children being raised up in the woods by a pack of wolves. I'm kind of like that, except I was raised up by 8-bit and 16-bit gaming. Mostly I'm a commodore 64 guy, I think I got my first C64 in 1986 or something like that, and it still functions like brand new.

Pretty much stopped buying consoles after playstation 1, kind of seems redundant to me ...to play the same games over and over again, with nothing else changing, but game names and graphics.

I too was raised in a shack by a Commodore 64, when I got taken into care a bit later by a Sega MegaDrive. Best upbringing a child could have!

Dude! same story with Me! Started out with a Tandy Radio Shack CoCo 2, quickly went to a C64 (All Hail the SID!), then was ushered into gaming awesomeness by My Sega Genesis.

Just joined this forum,(awesome by the way.)As a kid my life consisted of BMX,Skateboarding, comics and most importantly......SEGA!!! Now having reached 30 and with children of my own I have gone all nostalgic.the last three months I have camped out in front of ebay trawling for old haros and Vision street wear shirts.

Last night I decided it was time to rekindle my passion for Blue hedgehogs, monkeylike boys with swollen fists and silly looking 3D goggles!
have now got awesomeness such as Combat cars, gain ground, landstalker and greendog heading towards me via australia post.now if i can just find the right megadrive and SMS converter........ oh and those super stylish goggles!

    Hi

I'm Robert from England. My first console was a Master System that was given to me by my uncle who got a Mega Drive at launch. I was a Sega fan boy from that day forward going on to collect all there systems. I bowed out of gaming after the Dreamcast era but now I'm back after picking up a Mega Drive II. I only have Sonic 2 at the moment but it has been keeping me and a few mates going for the last couple of weeks.

My midlife crisis came earlier than expected too! It's funny how turning 30 will do that to you. I haven't got kids though, so it's a bit more worrying for me I think.

Hey, I'm Glisp. I'm the man who released the Johnny Mnemonic Sega CD prototypes as well as purchased them. I also am now a close acquittance with Eternal Champions creator, Michael Latham. I talk to him on Facebook and Skype every now and then. Eternal Champions is one of my favorite Sega series.

I planned on doing a fan game to finish the series once and for all by creating an unofficial rendition of Eternal Champions: The Final Chapter and Michael Latham is the consultant for it since he knows EC3 inside and out. I already know a great deal more about the third game than he even revealed in his interview.

Including the appearance, special abilities and powers of the new Chaos Eternal Champion. Don't know the names of the Infernals yet though. Know that there was to be a new time based fatality and 3 endings for each character. I also know how the game's best ending is supposed to play out along with the final battle associated with it.

I'd reveal stuff about it but I'm sure some of you would rather play the fangame when it gets done. Mike has offered to host it on his site, should I finish it.

As for other Sega series, I like Streets of Rage, Sonic the Hedgehog, Blue Sky's Jurassic Park games, Vectorman, and many others. Even classics like Altered Beast and the Shinobi series.

You know how to make a first impression Howdy, and welcome aboard!

I already noticed that you got a few other protos for Saturn and Sega CD as well. If you don't mind me asking, how did you manage to get your hands on those?

Anyways, once more, welcome, and enjoy your stay!

Ah, that's an easy question. A guy on ebay was having an auction on a Shining Force CD preview disk. (it's very close to the final.) I happened across the ther five protos he was selling in the process via an auction. I worked my charm in all the auctions and bid insanely high. (my maximum bid on SF CD was 900 bucks but since it never got that high I didn't have to pay it.) So high in fact, that the other bidders couldn't keep up. I only ended up paying about 288 bucks US for all six protos. (I had about 1000 bucks in reserve so I figured, why the hell not?) I literally bid for over a week on those protos. When the auction was over, I felt very satisfied.

What's fun is that the guy send over a Black Hole Assault manual with the prototypes (one of which was a Black Hole Assault disk.) The manual looks about the same as the final version probably does. (the BHA proto was only 22 days older than the final release or so.)

Hello all, my name is Emil and I am from the cold north (Sweden).
I am a big collector of Megadrive and dreamcast games, so this place must be paradise for collectors like us!
My favorite megadrive/genesis game must Gunstar Heroes or Alien Soldier. I am still beting my head to the keyboard for writing my internet nick wrong :/

Hi guys, my name's Emmanuel, I'm 30 years old, a French citizen married to an American wife. We both live in the Paris suburbs. I started to play the Mega Drive when it came out in France, in 1991 I believe (got it for Christmas). I stopped playing video games when 3D took the main-stage in the late 90s, until I eventually bought a Mega Drive again 5 years ago because I missed it so much. I have now 4 (model 1) Mega Drives and a Japanese Mega CD (model 2). I pre-ordered Pier Solar 2 years ago and I'm so happy to have received it today. I Feel like I'm 12 again!

It's been so long I feel I need to introduce myself. I contributed a tiny bit a while back but sort of fell out of collecting due to financial and medical problems. I'm still around though and still love my Genesis collection. I hope to be a part of the community again sometime.

I've been on here for a week or two but have yet to introduce myself. I'm in my late twenties and grew up during the golden age of gaming (the 8-16 bit era). I still have my original SNES and Sega Genesis. Unfortunately, in my younger years I sold off a lot of my original games to buy games for newer systems. My first official console was an atari 2600 I inherited from my sister. Then I got a Sega Master System that I only ever had one game for. It wasn't until I got an NES that I really fell in love with video gaming. The best Christmas gift I ever received was my Sega Genesis. Probably the my fondest gaming moments are of playing Sonic the Hedgehog on that Christmas day.
