That's pretty impressive considering there's an unfortunate lack of Sega CD hardware documentation, not to mention the known bottlenecks in the system. Regardless, we'd love to have you on the good ship S.S. Sega-16! Maybe you could share with us a few details on your game? Or knowledge of the Sega CD?

My name is Anders Carlsson from Sweden. I'm part of quite a number of forums, in some I am more active than in others.

My background is strictly from home computers. I got my first VIC-20 in 1985, upgraded to a C64 in 1987 and got an Amiga 500+ in 1992. That was my main computer until about 1997 when I got a second hand Amiga 1200. I didn't get my first PC until year 2000, and even then it was an outdated Pentium 200 MMX. Three years later I got an AthlonXP, but it was not until 2005/06 that my vintage collecting begun. Although I acquired almost every old home computer I ever had wanted (not much of an exaggeration actually), I kept away from consoles as those never had tickled me.

Then one day in October 2008, I found an online auction featuring one untested C64 + two untested, loose Megadrives with just a bunch of hand controllers. I decided to take a chance, and found all three were in perfectly working condition for the total cost of ~$35 including shipping. From that on, the Megadrive is part of my collection and also represents the most modern console I own! Actually my collection of consoles pretty much limits itself to RCA Studio II, Fairchild Channel F, Creativision and Megadrive - quite an unusual combo. Nintendo doesn't have a place in my home. I used to own a boxed NES for two days and a loose N64 for two hours but that is as far as it goes.

Anyway, while playing through some Megadrive games on my Amstrad Mega PC (*), I noticed I had traded away a number of games so I'm down to only six Megadrive games left. It made me start looking on the net, asking friends for recommendations and hunting eBay for decent priced games to replenish my library. As I wrote in another post, this is not my main format so I'm aiming to keep the collection to around 8-10 games if boxed, perhaps a few more if they're loose.

(*) I acquired that one "untested" last year, and found it works fine except for PC CMOS battery is dead. Now I just need to find the ultimate monitor that can handle both Megadrive RGB 15 kHz and VGA 31 kHz.. I have some options on that one.

Welcome aboard. Great story you have there. Knowing that you own a working Amstrad Mega PC will fill many forum members with envy for sure (I know I am ).
The funny thing about an oxymoron is, even if you remove the ox, there'll always be a moron. The Question Remains: Y?

My name is Kurt, and I've been playing video games for as long as I can remember. I have a number of systems, old and new, and enjoy a pretty wide variety of genres. I've generally stuck to the Nintendo side of things while growing up, so I never really had much experience with Sega as a kid. In recent years however, I purchased a Sega Genesis (my first Sega system), and now have started to collect some games for it. The games I currently own include:

    Buck Rogers: Countdown to Doomsday
Contra: Hard Corps (gotten all six endings, and beaten as Sheena without dying)
    Rocket Knight Adventures
    Shadowrun
Streets of Rage (beaten on Normal as Blaze)
    Sub-Terrania
    Valis: The Phantasm Soldier (beaten)

Contra, Streets of Rage, and Valis I first got with my Genesis back in 2007, but the other games were all obtained within the past week. I also have some other games on their way in the mail, such as Road Rash and Frogger. I'm looking forward to adding to my Genesis/Mega Drive collection, and to participating more in this forum! If anyone has any questions, feel free to ask

Long time lurker, first time poster. Had a Mega Drive as a kid, so grew up with it (that and Amiga).
Nowadays interested in all that retro gaming stuff, leaving me ruined 90% of the time

Edit: Oh, and I live in Denmark
