Default Messed up xbox 360 vga cable

Ok, I just bought a 3rd party Xbox 360 cable. I bought it off eBay. I plugged it Up to my 17" Dell LCD Monitor with an optimal resolution of 1280x1024@60Hz. I noticed this weird "Repeating" effect. It only shows up when a bright and darker color are side-by-side. The brighter color will "repeat" its "outline" (not the actual color itself) into the darker color. 4 times to be exact. The individual pixels seem sharp and clear. Is there anyway I could prevent this? Could someone tell me what causes it? It really is bugging me.

    sounds like ghosting..
does your monitor have a female vga port input on it's back or an hardwired male vga cable? in the first case it could be the 3rd party cable wich sucks (maybe designed for 480p only) in the second case, the cause is the excessive extension of both cables togheter

Yeah, sounds like ringing. Maybe the 3rd party didn't use the correct impedance wiring (removes reflections of the high frequencies back into the cable when pulled down to load on the receiving side).

Yeah, try some other resolutions, maybe some of them ghost more than others.

Also it could depend on the monitor and how far you sit. On my old monitor, I got noticeable ghosting on anything higher than 1024x768, but then I got another monitor and it seems to be fine even at 1920x1080, but I do sit a little further back from this one than I did on the other (it's also a bigger screen 19" vs 17" on the old one).

Both my monitors are CRT, and both have the cord hardwired to the monitor, so it's 360 VGA cable into a male to male (or female to female, not sure) adapter, then into the monitor's cable.

I tried every 4:3 Resolution. (Since my LCD doesn't play nice with 16:9)
    640x480
    800x600
    1024x768
    1280x1024
In fact, It seems worse at lower resolutions.

I have it running to a Female-to-Female adapter, and then the monitor cable into it. I removed the monitor cable and hooked it up to the Display directly. But no improvement.

But It seems that it only does it on this monitor, It's almost unnoticeable on my 17" CRT.
And completely gone on my friends 42" 1080p HDTV. Even at 1920x1080 resolution.

But, It couldn't be my LCD, because when I have it connected to the PC, It works fine, with no "ghosting".

*Sigh* I knew I shouldn't have given in to the $5 price tag....

This is a lesson that I've learned several times over. NEVER buy 3rd party cables. I've used 3rd party 360 VGA cabels, they degraded. I've used 3rd party PS3 Component cables, they degraded.

The only ones that haven#'t broken are the official MS and Sony ones I bought.

Lesson Learned, guess I'll have to buy the over-priced $30 Cables VGA cables, That were made for like $1 in some factory somewhere... Also, NEVER BUY CHEAP 3RD PARTY CONTROLLERS, EVER!!! The cheap plastic will give your hands cancer, make your house stink, and the cheap not-filed-down plastic-rubber hybrid material on the thumb sticks will molest your thumbs.
