Never saw those screenshots before. I really wonder in which phase of the development this game was. If they were developing it for almost a year, it should nearing completion somehow. However, if it was near completion I wonder why they didn't port this to the Saturn.
I'm guessing this is Sonic Mars; which went on to be the cancelled Saturn game Sonic X-Treme. Pretty sure those screenshots are from the aborted theme park ride they had planned though.
I saw that movie in the Sonic Jam CD times ago. I don't think anything else than Sonic Crackers / Chaotix was planned for 32x.
Found it... 7:20
Edit: nevermind, that was on the description too
These stills are actually taken from an in-house Sega video titled "Sonic Ride" utilizing pre-rendered graphics that are far more sophisticated than would have been possible on the 32X. The video was reportedly produced for a simulated amusement park ride in Japan. "Sonic Ride" can be found as part of the bonus video archives in the Sonic Jam collection for Sega Saturn.

The concept footage of the game was recycled for an amusement ride titled Sonic Ride, which was also cancelled. So it ended up being a special feature in Sonic Jam. You gotta admit, that looks impressive. 32X would have been the BOMB if this released. No kind of chip for the SNES could have produced these graphics. Also, if this was an early stage of Sonic Mars, Chris Senn would have told us about it on his site.![]()

Neither the 32x could produce that.

This tells us otherwise http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KXRtAY5tUqM The 32X was a basic Sega Saturn, without Red Book audio or FMVOriginally Posted by Tor Landeel

It was less powerful than a Saturn and Virtua Fighter, while an amazing conversion, shows it all.
32x was not good enough with texturized polygons, and could never handle something like Virtua Fighter Remix (let alone VF2)
And the clip you posted does not say anything about what could be done...just a prerendered, badly animated character walking in textured rooms...Metal Head is better than that

WRONG! This game is not related to Sonic Mars/X-Treme. Senntnel.com would have confirmed thatOriginally Posted by Tor Landeel
