Which is your OS? Vista can have additional issues...
Also, usually when you're having problems with CD-ROM detection it's recommended to create an image and use it.

I knew I posted a guide here. Didn't realize it was that long ago, though.

7? So be sure that you are executing everything as Administrator. Even if you are a user with administrator rights... MS's permissions system sucks completely. It really can complicate your life...

One day I was developing a application and I needed to execute a custom script after the compiling routine, and the custom script would create files and folders in C:\ (this can be a painful task in the Win 7 without the right permissions...).
It was a strong NO-NO from the Windows 7. Even as THE Administrator system account, even executing the compiler as administrator... No. I had to give the administration privilege to the script (???) and I found no answers/tricks using Google... I just booted in the XP again and forget about developing that stuff on Win 7.

This shit is still a pain in the ass but I guess i shoulve been tryin to install it rather than rum it off of the cdrom. I haven't used dos thoroughly in a 16 years. But I did get the installation screen up and everything is fine until it says that HD space is at 0.
