Do you have the little plastic shield that fits around the bottom of the 32X unit?

No its for a model 1 genesis. So the video cable won't fit in a model 2 and there's no adapter with mine

Actually I'm not sure it will work as-is with either model 1 or 2, looking at your picture. Didn't sega require model 1 to use both the model 2 cable and an adapter cable?

By the looks of it (unless its hidding around the other cords in the pic ) the main mini pin patch cable is missing no???..There should be 3 cables all together..Cable converter 1 & 2, and the AV cable...

The plastic spacer seems to be attached to the 32X unit already, to have that piece is always a plus..

While the model 1 cable you're thinking of does exist, AFAIK it isn't an official part. The sega one I know about looks like this and won't fit 32x alone:

But seriously it does come with the plastic attatchment and it does not come with the cable that goes from the 32 to the genesis so the new price is 40.
