OOO! Does this mean I won? That I vindicated myself after my pathetic, "barely got a chance to play" Space Harrier score?

By milking the cannon fodder that comes with bosses.
I just figured it might be even better to do it with a weapon that doesn't home on anything, this way you avoid damaging bosses too fast (it's hard not to).
A good one, definitely unique. And a good choice as well, contrary to your vision. The Coop, Kollision, curryman: your opinion of this game?
Boss milking. Blowing up the other ships or debris that comes along as you're fighting the bosses, while trying to avoid killing the boss, for as long as you can.
I like the game. It's not revolutionary or anything, but it's fun, visually well done with a rarely used theme in Genesis shmups (bugs), and solid controls/hit detection.
Well, since it's been over ten days, I'm guessing that makes this contest done. So, for the next game, we'll go with one that keeps coming up...
Fire Shark for the Genesis (not arcade or any other port).
- Rapid on
- Hard
- Three lives
- Maximum of two loops (this thing loops, if memory serves, ten times). So if you clear the game twice, pause it at the very beginning of stage 1 on the third loop, and that's your score.

okay, had a few first credits tonight
396.920, stage 4
I got distracted during that power-up shower and died stupidly.
Fire Shark is a sleeping bag. I gave it my first whirl the other day and after some initial hiccups (which as always are quickest cured by a shot of gin) I managed to get rolling. A few levels rolled by. And then I mentally fell asleep.
The problem is the weapons to enemy ratio: the Fire Shark has a 95% kill effect simply from holding down the fire button so it's just up to whether that last 5% can kamikaze or shoot it, but basic manoeuvring obviates the majority of that 5% so in reality one just sweeps about from corner to corner like some hypnotist's watch waiting for that lively <2% to break through.
edit = 1,100,000 and change early in to lv 6. This game is fuck all boring. I can't pay attention.
