I had the same problem as well. I was stuck in limbo for about 2 weeks before I contacted Melf and he got me fully activated.

I had this issue but I sent some PMs to get it fixed. Everything seems to work for me, I can reply and change things in my profile.

BUT, I never see any button to create a topic. I looked around at the rules and stickies and don't see anything about needing a certain number of posts to create topics. So I just toss this out there and maybe you can tell me why I can't create topics.

I had the same problem when I joined the forums. I registered, activated my account from the email sent, and everything seemed ok. BUT I couldn't do anything on the boards, even manage my own profile. I also couldn't pm for help. Luckily I asked a guy I know from another forum (ApolloBoy, thanks!) to see if he could help. He contacted Melf and now my account seems operational. I can reply to threads, etc; however, even when I post I get a message saying it will have to be approved by mods. And so far none of my posts have shown up.

Something is wrong with registration. I hope it gets fixed soon because I almost gave up trying. I even wrote the webmaster under the "Contact Us" link 3 times (because I couldn't pm anyone) and never got a response. I'm glad I'm not the only one who had this problem. Throwing up so many walls to people who want to join this awesome community is very disheartening!

The walls are part of the software, believe me it wasn't always like this haha.

And the mod queue for posts is an automatic filter, don't even know what triggers it. If that happens in the future man, just PM me and I'll approve any posts.

Well, it's a good anti-spam measure, for it's really effective. I think I was lucky of signing up before this became required :P.

I'm getting more PMs on other forums from people that can't get their accounts activated. I don't think it has anything to do with clicking the link they get in the e-mail because I never got those PMs before we downgraded to this latest vBulletin mess and even then we required people to click the links in the e-mail. I also had a Q&A registration test set up, not sure if that's still active but it pretty much stopped the spam.

Spammers can spam without the ability to post new threads. They can make spam posts and quite often they have spam links in their signatures. Turning off signatures for all users will eliminate a big part of that. Signatures are dumb, anyway.

I talked with another person PMing me on another site and they said this:

After registering, I did click the activation link in the e-mail I recieved, and that's when a message came up that the account needed to be approved, and there hasn't been anything else since. There's no way an unapproved user can contact anyone on-site either - there's no access to PMs, and the "Contact" link on the main page seems to be broken.

Something is definitely set wrong in the Admin Control Panel and I can't fix it because I can't get there!
