    Megadrive Super Skidmarks

Racing is fun, but racing with cows is SO much better! That’s a feature of Super Skidmarks that other racing games don’t offer, and the only thing really setting this game back (aside from a weird way of keeping cars together onscreen) is the fact that it doesn’t really run well on NTSC TV sets thanks to its PAL exclusivity. If you can play it though, check it out! Read our full review for all the details.

I don't think I've seen this game before. The dithering looks like it would have blended well with a blurry video connection back in the day.

Super Skidmarks. Why is the first thing to come to mind is a toilet humor joke? LOL

I noticed that too. Dithering looks to be well used in this game. And great review!

Not too many things surprise me about the Genesis anymore but, I've never seen or heard of this game before. It looks like a cross between Super Sprint and RC Pro AM. Looks like the box art rivals Phalanx for strangeness.

Apparently its a game about driving around in Mr. Bean's car, whilst needing a change of underpants?

Played this game all the time in my early teens in multiplayer! Hadn't noticed how the sound effects and music have a lot in common with Micromachines so it's obvious where codemasters lifted the sound engine from! hehe Nor had I noticed how it uses dithering!!! Amazing what you notice years on

TheSonicRetard, I heard that "Ultimate Super Skidmarks" has extra types of cars... Any idea of how many extra types?
    Thanks.

I need to familiarize myself with the other versions before I can say what is exclusive to which version - before I saw this topic, I thought Skidmarks was an Amiga-only game series (which makes sense because it never was released in the US, hence my unfamiliarity with it).

Interesting coincidence, though - My Amiga 1200 arrived yesterday with a whole bunch of stuff that was included from its release, including a special issue of Amiga Format magazine which wasn't sold in stands. It's pretty much a primer guide to amiga computing, with sections on applications to check out and explaining what demos and what-not are. There is a tiny section on programming, which goes into the very basics of Blitz Basic 2, and as the example they use of Blitz Basic development, they show bits and pieces of the development for Skidmarks on the CD32.

EDIT: Similarly, but unrelated - the manual for Deluxe Paint IV (which came with the Amiga 1200 dynamite desktop pack) shows development from the at-the-time unreleased Jungle Strike in the section where they explain how to create a scrolling playfield. Both Deluxe Paint and Jungle Strike were published by EA.
    A retarded Sonic.

I've never played this cart but it looks like it could be trouble to see far enough ahead of your car unless it's a really slow racer. With the exception of F1 Circus, which has a secondary zoom window, all of these overhead scaling racing games are trouble for me because I can't see far enough ahead. Otherwise, I like the idea of seeing my entire car on the track.

I think a better design for these overhead racing games would be like Super Sprint where the entire track fits on one screen. I would actually like to play an overhead racer like that, especially if it used true-to-scale speeds for the course. Unfortunately, I'm not aware of any games like that for Genesis.

The closest thing I can think of to Super Sprint for the Genesis is Super Off Road.
