There are CD and MVS exclusives, but there are no AES exclusives ever released. I hear at one time Magician Lord 2 was planned to be an AES exclusive, but that game was eventually cancelled.

Those 512 megs of RAM on the Chihiro board are used only for speeding up loading times, Outrun 2 on the Chihiro and Outrun 2 for the first Xbox look the same.

Yes I think its the backrounds that are stored on the Cart . Plus anyone who wants to see the Saturn kick the PS ass for 2D only really needs to play Astra Superstars - My GOD I forgot how awesome and insane those 2D visuals really are

Well, the Saturn has the most sophisticated 2D hardware of any console, so it's not surprising that at least ONE 2D game for the Saturn kicks the sh-t out of any other console. It's all just a matter of using what Sega provided.

I always wondered (and forgive me if I've already asked this, and doubly so if it has already been answered):

If ROM carts could be used to augment CD based titles (as was the case with one of the KOF games), doesn't that mean that cart games could've been released as well?

I cannot be the only one that thought Saturn would've been able to play cart games (whether BC with Genesis/MegaDrive or original titles) when seeing the console for the first time.

If I remember correctly it can boot games from the Cart slot, though I think Sega strictly forbid developers to do that. Though I could be misremembering the last time this discussion came up.
