Ninja Genesis FM sound mod for Master System games...

Do you think it would be possible to make a FM sound module that would plug into either the expansion slot on a Genesis 1 or 2 or that could plug into the EXT port on a model 1 for use with Master System games? I know that a certain flash cart for the Genesis had a built in FM sound option for SMS stuff so I know its possible to do without an internal modification. What do you guys think?

It would be cool if you could use the EXT port for that purpose, then you could have a Sega CD connected at the same time... *ponders*

Yes, SMS Power has done this a few times, but they ran out of YM 2413 chips. Well, sorry, I don't think the expansion port on the Genesis was done, but the Power Base Converter had an extensive mod for the expansion. I just used the expansion port on my Master System, it only required wiring power to a capacitor joint.

Viletim's FM board can be wired up to the Genesis/MD itself, you just have to wire it up to the cartridge port and then splice in the audio for it. I haven't done it myself but Viletim says that it should work.
