    Default Issue with spam filter

You really need to do something about the spam filter - I created a new thread with my latest on building the MD/32X toolchain, but it's holding it hostage to the spam filter until some moderator can give it the okay. Seriously, add a check on the number of posts a user has on that sucker! Someone with more than 1000 posts is NOT going to be spamming the site. Our new threads (or even replies to existing threads) should go through regardless of what the damn filter thinks about it.

What exactly is making it think that's spam and your other posts are not? Perhaps there's something you can change in formatting to make it go through.

Probably the links... they're all to open source tools for building a gcc toolchain, then a few archives with examples and my various ports on mediafire. Perhaps it's the number of links that sets it off - spam pages are often LOTS of links, and my post does have quite a few... look at my old thread on building a toolchain - it's just like that, but updated to the latest.

Yeah, I have no idea what triggers the spam filter really. At this point it just filters whatever it wants to. I would love to disable it...

Yeah, it's killed more than one of my replies to other threads... although it's nearly always a post with a link in it that gets filtered. So it's SOMETHING to do with links that triggers it. It wouldn't be so irritating if it were like the message says - wait and the post will appear after a moderator approves it. They just seem to disappear completely instead.

EDIT: Whoa! My thread suddenly appeared... thanks to whoever managed to get it started.

So it's not ALL posts disappearing forever - just most of them.

Chilly, I approved your thread. The spam filter doesn't delete posts, it just puts them into moderation limbo where they wait until someone like myself, Joe, or Ken approves the post.

This seems to happen randomly. Is there a link in your thread or post? I think that might be what is causing it. It's not something that we've specifically enabled. I would take a look at it but I don't have enough privileges.

http://tinyurl.com/ seems like a good temporary solution - until one of you guys figures out how to disable this crappy piece of shit filter.

Yeah, it's what I use when it comes to Ebay links or most imageshack pics.
