About the 8GB+ memory stick talk... simply, such memories aren't directly compatible. You cannot run code out of them or anything, only read/write stuff through a pinhole, and slowly at that unless dedicated hardware is used to speed up the process (kind of like CD, though less limited). You would need a normal compatible boot memory which is in MBytes in size but costs much more than GBytes of the other memory.
