I enjoyed this piece but i have a difference of opinion. Although it is easy to criticize game developers and console manufacturers for charging for online passes, on-disc bonus content, and pre-order bonuses, the blame lies squarely on our shoulders. After all, if there was no market for the additional content provided, the game developers and manufacturers would not invest time and money in this market strategy.
As consumers, we should not forget that our dimes and nickels (and dollar notes) speak volumes. And rather than always buying the latest and greatest games, we should fight that impulse. You cannot forget that you, as a consumer, possess the purchasing power to change the current dynamics.
