I'm fine with it existing, but shame it couldn't be used to it's full power. I like the Afterburner, Space Harrier, and Virtua Fighter ports for it. I'm fine with MK 2 being on it, but could it have been done better?
Yes, it is just a shame that Sega mismanaged it so poorly. Had they price pointed it more reasonably at release and held off another year on the Saturn release, the 32x could have been successful, or at least had a fighting chance.
"Let's see if you bastards can do 90."
Yes, Virtua Racing Deluxe, Shadow Squadron, Virtua Fighter and Kolibri alone justify its existence, no alterverse would have had these games as is on another platform. Plus, the 32X was the only thing to keep Sega's revenue from slipping below Nintendo for 1994. Even if it had allowed to stay on shelves and only had another twenty games made for it before being canceled we would have an entirely different discussion today with the anti-add-on zealots.
I would have liked to have seen Super Street Fighter II, Mortal Kombat III, Castlevania and A.M.O.K. in particular. More Super Scaler Arcade ports (and I mean ports) of the quality After Burner Complete and Space Harrier had would have made me happy forever.

As of this post, the poll is rather one sided (6 for and 0 against), and I also think that it should exist, but like sheath had mentioned if the library was just a bit stronger I think it would be thought of much differently. As if was phased out we were on the cusp of getting some awesome games for the 32X, especially ones like X-Men and the Wirehead upgrade. I think the better video quality on games like Fahrenheit could have at least gotten people talking about what Sega was doing compared to Nintendo.
There's no way they could have held back the shift that occurred with the Sony Playstation; but it's possible that the 32X could have been seen as something of real value, instead of just another rushed out hack-job by Sega that decreased their overall brand strength.
there are a few great games on 32X, but no, it does not deserve to exist.
No, it serves no purpose. The few worthwhile 32x games would have been better as Saturn games.

You just can't handle my jawusumness responces.
No.
It's two historical revisions from having been a legitimate add-on, and one is the absolute responsible limit according to Isaac Newton and Edmond Hoyle. First Sega would need to have dedicated themselves to the 32X. Second Sega would need to have exercised some wisdom with the Saturn's launch, that is a launch surprisingly late rather than premature.
There are some decent games on it but Sega would have done better to have just released a Neo Genesis with 32X and optimised Genesis hardware in it rather than the costly 32X on its own and the useless Model 3--or, as TmEE said, have built the 32X into the SCD.

Yes. I love my 32X, and while it has a small library, there is a decent amount of fun games there. And plus, a 32X can be had for fairly cheap these days, so I think every Genesis owner should have one.
It's impossible for every Genesis owner to have a 32X. Only about 1 Million of them exist in comparison to the 40 Million Genesis systems that exist. It may have some decent games, but I think those games would have been better as early Saturn Launch titles.
Are you seriously implying that less than 1 million people still own a Genesis?
I voted Yes. There are a number of exclusives on the 32X that are your only way of playing those games, short of owning the arcade (for the ones that were from an arcade, like Star Wars Arcade).
In fact, I'd go so far as to question whether the Saturn should exist. As the Wii has proven, the best hardware does not guarantee you'll win the generation. The 32X actually had the potential to be the cheap 32-bit console with the largest selection of cheap games... just like the Wii. Even has that backwards compatibility seen in the Wii.
Some folks argue the Saturn was more powerful than the PSX - and in many ways they're right. Did the Saturn win? Hell no! SEGA even canceled the Saturn early to focus on the next console... so why did they even bother with the Saturn in the first place? Let the 32X duke it out for the average consumer while elitists bought the PSX or N64, then come out with the Dreamcast a little earlier to dominate the market.
What if those 32X exclusives were released on the Saturn instead as launch titles?
