Sega 16 we need...

I don't like change, this sight looks entirely different now it is pretty shocking.

It looks amazing, but change is wrong so to avoid offending my hatred of change further, don't change it back.


Anyway, I suggest we create a forum for alternative history,

we need a forum called: What If?

It could only be Genesis related, it could only be about the 32X dominating and changing forever the landscape of electronics, humanity and video gaming forever instead of being a miserable failure/junk.

It could have all that wonderful stuff that seems to go on a never ending circle.

Doesn't the current discussion format already allow for those kinds of topics as part of related discussion? I don't see this warranting a separate forum.

The reason why Tanegashima suggests this is because there's so much discussion of alternate history. It could very well fill up an entire forum with just Kool Kitty's posts alone.

Well, in hindsight, if there were an alternative history sub forum all along it is very possible that kool kitty never would have noticed the rest of the forums and only would have stayed stuck on how the Atari Jaguar was the best most cost effective hardware design for a small company of its day. Without kool kitty's presence in the Genesis, Sega CD, 32X, Insert Coin and Tech forums we would all only be aware of the presence of our own beloved hardware and would have no knowledge of the dozens of different Genesis, Sega CD and 32X (or no 32X) revisions in pocket universes next door. Without the infinite possibilities of infinite universes to discuss, we already would have solved all of the problems in our universe and Sega-16 would be dead except for pictures of adolescent Asian girls, or adult Asian girls dressed like children, and the cult of Raul.

I agree, there are only so many lolcats a person can take. You only have to look at the Shadow Dancer thread (around page 17) to see some of the awesome 16-bit banter that used to go on, when derailing threads was a subtle art - a bit like in this thread! Perhaps we're just old school Sega-16ers (with you being considerably more old school than I) and times have changed. Whatever happened to people like Elusive? Do they even bother posting anymore?

But the thing is, it's only in the off-topic forum. If you want to stimulate some conversation in the regular forums, why not create some new threads/bump some old ones? The latter option was working very recently..

If I were a newer member of Sega-16 I would reply with either a youtube video of Bob Dylan's "The Times They Are a Changin'" or a lolcat dressed like Bob Dylan with the words "Da Timez Dey R A Chanin'" beneath or some crap like that.

The off-topic forum did used to get some really good banter about non-Sega related discussion. Now there's 119 pages of "Post Your Babe Pics" - the internet is full of porn, why do we need such a thread?, 414 pages of "3 Word Story" - which is the worst story in the world since somebody said "Shall we make two sequels to the Matrix", 237 pages of "Write your own 6 word story" - which is double the spam of the 3 word story, 431 pages of "Count to 15000" - uber spam post count boost thread, 20 pages of "Post your lolcat pics" - posting a single lolcat picture should be a bannable offence and numerous other such threads which I cannot be bothered to moan about.

While the light touch modding of Sega-16 is a fantastic thing, I am a grouchy forum member of over 6-years and therefore feel it is now my duty to discuss the good old days.
