    Default Sega CD game suggestions

Hey, I bought a Sega CD knowing that I wanted Sonic CD, Panic and Snatcher. Snatcher is a little out of my price range right now, so I was wondering if there were any other killer titles you could recommend? I was considering Night Trap just for the goofy 90's acting.

    Ecco..

oh, and get the Japanese version of Sonic CD... the music is better, im right now listening to the tunes on itunes..

(to play the JAP sonic CD on an american Sega CD, you'll need to rip it, repair it, and re-burn it, with american boot code..)

probably too much for you to do though...

If you like the Shining Force games for Mega Drive, get the CD version too.

Buy stuff at the Magical Game Factory, WaterMelon's crowd funding video game development site!

Do YOU have any games you want to get rid of that haven't been reviewed on the site and needs to be beaten for the sake of this project? Send 'em to me and I'll review and beat them! I'll pay for shipping of course. Shoot me a PM if you're interested.

I did that and it worked great for me.

There are a few games that won't boot properly when you swap the region code on the disc. I've tried just about every Japanese Mega CD game available using this method in my Sega CD and some just don't cooperate.

which games? i want to try something.. i have a technique i want to try.. (using sega loader, and literally loading a Japanese BIOS via "software" programming..

it "might" just work.. and once the US BIOS boots, you can flick the genesis into JAP mode.. that's what I want to try.

This uses "shadowing", something not normally done on the Genesis.. i want to try it though, am curious..

For a more economic way of getting cheesy 90's acting get Double Switch (Similar to Night Trap) and Ground Zero Texas. If you have a 32X connected get Corpse Killer and Slam City, but be warned that Slam City is extremely difficult.

To be quite honest I don't really remember since I threw those CDRs out. I know Earnest Evans didn't work too well (the music would cut out sometimes) but the game played. If I saw a list of all Mega CD games I might be able to pick and choose a few.

I slightly prefer the Japanese track (and greatly prefer for the first stage and title), but I feel the track lengths on both are waaaay too short.

i think it's partially due to them not having CDs back then, that were that big in capacity.. i noticed there always seems to be a 500MB limit on the old consoles (and i think that is due to there being a limit on CD capacity)

these days, you can even find an 800MB CD, though rare..
