    Shakespeare Reader Roundtable Vol. 74

We say farewell to winter the same way we leave each season behind every year: by playing games! Our staff and readers have been toiling away at those great Genesis, Sega CD, and 32X titles that they hadn’t gotten around to playing or just can’t get enough of. Read on and see what we’ve been playing! Read the full article for all of our entries.

Got a slight ammendment to make to my entry this month: I did some readup on Cricket, and apparently, falling behind by 100 points or even more is actually more or less par for the course; you can fall behind by more than 300 and still have a chance to win the match! What a weird sport...

Phantar nice write up there, it was very funny and entertaining to read. Do we smell a review in the works?

HEAVENS TO BETSY NO! At least not for a while, right now I've got other buns in the oven. Maybe some other day, when I feel particularly masochistic (and I gained a little more insight in the workings of Cricket).
The funny thing about an oxymoron is, even if you remove the ox, there'll always be a moron. The Question Remains: Y?

Glad to see Weaponlord mentioned. One of my fav Genesis games. Better than the SNES version.

For the guys who like Weaponlord, isn't it hard to see the characters clearly, and what they are doing? They looked real muddy and unclear, but maybe it's just me. lol I returned the game...

That write-up on Cricket reminds me of when I was trying to learn how to play American Football games, I was constantly shouting "what did I do wrong!?!?!" every time the players stopped moving, and I spent ages searching for a pass button to throw.

Brian Lara Cricket was actually quite a popular game in Britain by the way, apparently the original game spent 10 weeks at the UK #1 spot during 1995, I've known people who were big fans of it.

I've only played two of the games from the article, Doom and Weaponlord. I have both games and they are great! I remember seeing Weaponlord in the store for $79 and thinking no way was it worth that much. I found it somewhere else for $59 and bought it because I wanted to play it on XBand. My friend and I played it a lot in person and over XBand.

I've never heard of the cricket game but it would be interesting to try it.
