I like to exercise, and I need to get back into it. This thread could make itself useful by becoming a list of "things done" instead of yet another useless nothing thread.

For example, I'd like to do about 50 TRX push ups and other exercises a day, along with running and some sword practice. I'd simply post what I did, or suffer the shame of having nothing to share that day.

    Any takers?

Per the last few posts, it's supposed to be gay to want to stay in shape and manage to attract women. Totally not gay to stay indoors and play video games by your lonesome.

    Good call.
    They just jelly.

    Sword practice?
    Start squatting and deadlifting.

    Some motivation:

No, heavy weight lifting slows me down and causes me to waste inordinate amounts of time stretching to maintain the same flexibility. I'm talking about basic sword exercise that does better than sprints and keeps the reflexes sharp.

This guy doesn't do it the way I learned it, and doesn't use the heavy suburito in this exercise, but this is basically what I mean.

This has nothing to do with bodybuilding.
How do you know that heavy lifting will slow you down or make you inflexible? Have you lifted in the past?
(Static) stretching is useless and might actually be counter-productive while weightlifting.

Hey Sheath, I'm game! For the past two weeks I've been thinking about getting back into shape. I am a pretty thin guy however being thin doesn't mean that you are in physically fit and living a healthy lifestyle.

I'd be willing to use this type of topic to post what I've accomplished of what kind of work out routine I've done for that day or the lack thereof.

Those members who've developed an advance exercise routine may want to give their opinion in terms of improving the exercise routine and food regimen. Great idea sheath!

In business, the reality is that if you are not willing to crush your competitor, you might as well get out of the game while you're still ahead.

I don't see how staying at home playing video games attracts gay men either (or how bodybuilding doesn't).
From what I've seen of gay men they're usually far more attracted to really muscular men (i.e. bodybuilders) than women. Women seem to prefer the "muscled, but not too much" type in general.

And come on people, learn to take a joke! Body building is not gay, in the same way steel mills and the navy are not filled with gay men, it's just a dumb stereotype people joke around with sometimes.

Err, yeah. It might actually motivate some people to get their asses to the gym.
Letīs hope OP returns with an update.

Iīll toss in my last workout:

    3x5x145 squat

    3x5x110 bench

    1x5x165 deadlift

    2x8 chin-ups

    ~1hr 30 mins, including warm-up

When I was all young and flexible I took a six month weight training course. I had to stretch four times as often every day to maintain the same stretch, and even started to pull muscles during regular kicking exercises. The body gets used to whatever it is presented with.

Game_ON! Though I'm sure at this point we need to start a new topic of some sort. It'll all be on the honor system of course. We could model our posts after standards posted on sites like dailyburn.com or whatever if we wanted to. For this motley crew, I just see people popping in to say they did X many situps and pushups, or walked a mile today. I'd post as often as I do something, it would probably even motivate me to do things.

Whoever told you to stretch after/before lifting was being completely irresponsible. It's no wonder you pulled muscles.

The stretching was required before my regular martial arts exercises, not before or after weight training. I just noticed that I had to stretch a lot more often with weights than without.

Olls, man, if I ever get serious about getting in proper shape I know who to come to for advice, you really seem to know a lot about it.

I don't claim to know everything, and there is a lot of misinformation and conflicting opinions going around in the bodybuilding community. I think that most people just overcomplicate things when it comes to exercising.
Eat like a horse, sleep like a baby, train hard and you'll put on muscle mass. It really is that easy. For example, my training schedule consists of four simple exercises, 3 days a week.
Dedication, motivation and consistency are the difficult parts and that's really just a mindgame.

Stretch... Stretch... Stretch unless you want to be a stiff loser but most bodybuilder's aren't functional athlete's anyways.
